Prince Adaon Draconis

The Prince Before Becoming The King

Prince Adaon Draconis was the second-born son of King Aithne Draconis, the founder of Draconis Empire . Adaon was born in 2669 DE. King Amon Draconis was his older brother and his king. At the time as the prince, he was also the lord of Dragow. Adaon had no children but was married to Tala Draconis. Adaon was considered more kind than his king brother Amon. He was of Dragonborn descent and also commanded a dragon named Otad. Adaon rarely used his dragon because he believed dragons intimidated people too easily and did not want to seem too powerful to his peers. Adaon worshiped Odar the god of fire and was also a member of Followers of the Flame.

During The Dragon War

During The Dragon War Prince Adaon helped command his father King Aithne's army against the Cult of Klauth. During this period, he won many battles and was known for always putting his men first. Also, during the war, Adaon and his brother Amon disagreed on the strategy of how to stop the dragons. Amon wanted to wipe out almost all of the wild dragons. In contrast, Adaon wanted to find a way to tame the wild dragons and use them somehow for the greater good.

Death Of King Aithne

In 2689 DE, during the Battle of Dragonport King Aithne and his dragon Karus were killed by the ancient dragon Klauth . King Aithne, Prince Amon, and Prince Adaon were all present during this battle. When their father, Aithne, died, Adaon accused Amon of letting Aithne die. Adaon claimed he saw Amon ignoring Aithne's cries for help against the mighty and ancient dragon Klauth. Adaon believed that if his brother had helped Adaon and Aithne fight Klauth, they might have defeated Klauth together. Amon was disgusted by his brother's claim. Amon said Aithne had ordered him to help elsewhere and was following his father's orders. A fight broke out between Amon and Adaon. At the time, Amon was a much better swordsman than his brother. On the ground, with his brother's sword against his neck, Adaon surrendered to Amon. Amon relieved Adaon of his position in the army and sent him home to Dragow, where he became the lord of Dragow. The last battle Adaon fought with Amon was the battle of Dragonstar. Though he and his dragon fought with Amon, they fought for the citizens of Dragonstar and not for Amon's army. After the battle was over, Adaon returned to Dragow and prepared for the defense of the city. During the battle of Dragow, Adaon was injured and was not able to help in the battle of Dragonfall.

After The Dragon War

When The Dragon War ended in 2700 DW, Prince Adaon was lord of Dragow and did not concern himself with his now king brother Amon. For 11 years, there was peace in Daledon. Dragow was thriving as a city, and its citizens loved Adaon.

A New War Begins

In 11 ADW King Amon Draconis invades Vastor under the claims of wanting to unite Daledon to help prepare for the return of Kluath. Prince Adaon Draconis was against the invasion and proclaimed he would not help King Amon Draconis. Without his brother's help, King Amon's army was too weak to invade Vastor successfully. In 13 ADW, Amon uses The Crown Of Wishes to make the remaining dragons of the Cult of Klauth loyal to him. Soon, Amon would gain the support of these dragons that Daledon had fought so hard to defeat. This action made Prince Adaon furious. He wrote to his brother to revert the wish. Adaon received a letter back plainly saying "NO'. Adaon publicly denounced his brother's actions and would have no part in any future plans of the Draconis Empire .

As Three Cities Burn

In 17 ADW when The Burning of Three Cities happens, Adaon denounces Amon as King. Adaon tries to gather more troops to head northwest to Dragonfall to dethrone his brother. However, he has difficulty gaining support from nearby cities in Incendium. Without enough support, Adaon realizes any attempt to dethrone Amon would be in vain.

A Letter From A Mysteries Ally

In 18 ADW, Adaon received a mysterious letter from the Protectors of the Realm. In this letter, the protectors of the realm ask for Adaon's help to get rid of King Amon. Adaon writes back that they must eliminate his immediate family and advisors to stop Amon completely. He believes at this point that everyone close to Amon is also corrupt and should be stopped. The protectors of the realm agree and begin to plan a coup. Later that year Adaon hears the news that his brother's wife Queen Alta Draconis and his son Almit Draconis were murdered. He also finds out that Amon's oldest son Prince Argo Draconis escaped the assassination attempt and has fled to Isahil . He quickly writes to the protectors of the realm and urges them to keep trying to eliminate Argo. The protectors of the realm try several more times to assassinate Argo but none are successful. The last attempt at killing Argo fails so severely that the citizens of Isahil are convinced that the protectors of the realm are the ones corrupted. The protectors of the realm give up on assassinating Argo because they fear that more cities of Incendium will support Argo and they will become the hunted.

A Scar From The Corrupt King

In 19 ADW King Amon uses The Crown Of Wishes once more to eliminate all those who planned the coup to rid of King Amon and his family, but surprisingly nothing happens. A day later, Prince Adaon and everyone involved in the coup wake up in pain; suddenly, a burn-like mark appears on each of their right arms near the right wrist. This is later called the Mark of the Traitors . King Amon switches his focus to stopping the Protectors of the realm and their supporters.   In 21 ADW, Unaware that Adaon is working with the protectors of the realm, King Amon writes a letter asking for his aid. He asks Adaon to meet him in Dragonfall to discuss how to stop the protectors of the realm. He explains that the protectors of the realm are helping Klauth return from the dead. The protectors of the realm tell Adaon that now is the time to assassinate the king. At first, to make sure Amon believes Adaon is an Allie, the protectors of the realm plan a fake assassination attempt on Adaon. Adaon, at first, has a change of heart and does not want to go along with the assassination of the king, stating that maybe he can talk sense into Amon and stop his brother's corruption. The protectors of the realm know that Amon's corruption cannot be reversed. They insist that Adaon assassinate Amon. He refuses, but this time, the protectors of the realm blackmail Adaon and tell him that if he does not kill his brother, they will send Amon the letters sent between the protectors and Adaon. Knowing these letters would doom him, he agrees to kill Amon and heads to Dragonfall.

Out With The Old In With The New

Later in the year 21 ADW, Adaon arrives in Dragonfall. In the dining hall of the Dragon Palace, King Amon is assassinated by his brother. The coup to stop the reign of King Amon the Corrupt was a success. A few months later, Prince Adaon was crowned king of Incendium, and most of the citizens supported him as king. But Prince Argo, Lord of Isahil is still alive gaining more and more support each day and will one day test Adaon's might.
