Cities in flame
The Burning of three cities was a historical event that took place during the
The Corrupt War Era 11-21 ADW in 18 ADW. It was the burning of three cities of
Eathlain by
King Amon Draconis, his dragon
Adror and the dragons of the
Cult of Klauth. The three cities that were destroyed were:
Elerion Eathlain's old capitol,
Omsgroth and
Efsgroth. This attack was a direct action by King Amon after he had dreamnt that the
Osivia Empire were planning to do a ritual to bring back Klauth from the dead.
Elerion
During this historical event, King Amon destroyed the castle and home of the
Osivia Empire, he thought that this would be the location the Osivia empire would use to perform the ritual to bring back Klauth. Luckily, the king of Eathlain
King Mordin LIghtspell was not present during the attack. There was no ritual to bring Klauth back, and the Osivia empire had no desire to do so.
Efsgroth
King Amon and his dragons then flew to Efsgroth. Within the city, a facility held ballistas used at the naval battle at Walsgue. These ballistas effectively destroyed ships and were an excellent solution to incapacitating dragons. Therefore, King Amon wanted to destroy this facility. Also, at Efsgroth, King Amon destroyed shipyards, building ships for the Osivia Empire. After this, King Amon moved to the farmlands outside Efsgroth's walls. He torched more than 80% of Efsgorth's crop production. The citizens of Efsgroth were forced to leave, and most fled to nearby cities.
Omsgorth
After Efsgroth, King Amon and his dragons flew to Omsgorth. At Omsgorth, King Amon torched the city, killing the most people at this location. Omsgorth was also the home of naval general
Drannor Bryric. Drannor was the man behind the genius plan that was used at Walsgue during the battle. But Amon also thought that he was the man behind the ritual that would bring back Klauth. King Amon flew to his estate, and a battle between Amon and Drannor commenced. Amon was surprised by Drannor's skill in combat but eventually killed Drannor. After killing Drannor, Amon thought he had stopped the ritual and effectively stopped the return of Klauth. Amon then returned home to
Dragonfall.
After The Attack
The burning of these three cities was heard around
Daledon; the people of Daledon now realized the words from King Amon about peace and unity were untrue. This attack is considered the turning point of King Amon's reign. The attack was a massive blow to the
Osivia Empire if King Mordin was at the capital of Eathlain at the time, it may have well been the end to the Osivia Empire. King Mordin will make it his number one priority to stop King Amon to avenge the people of
Eathlain. King Mordin contacts the
Protectors of the Realm to help create a plan to stop King Amon.
This event changed the dynamic between the citizens of
Incendium and
Eathlain. Some elves in Incendium fleed out of fear that King Amon would cause harm to them. The Osivia Empire imprisoned some human advisors and wealthy men staying in Eathlain for being "spies" for the
Draconis Empire . Day by day, the hatred between Humans and elfs grew.
