Dragonborn

The first Dragonborn were recorded during the time of the first settlers over 700 years ago. In the caves of the Deepstone Mountains, carvings of humanoid creatures that resembled dragons were found. No one is certain if the first Dragonborn to roam Incendium were actually humanoid dragons. But the Dragonborn of today are humans who share the same blood as dragons and are naturally talented with fire and fire spells. At a young age, a dragonborn becomes bonded with a dragon. The dragon usually shares the same personality traits as the human. Once bonded the dragon becomes the humans protector and will follow their command.

The Recipe For War

As the dragonborn bred with more humans, their race began to decrease rapidly. By the year 600 DW, the population of the dragonborn was less than 500. At the same time, the dragon population increased and eventually outgrew the Dragonborn population. As a result, fewer dragons were bonding with the Dragonborn, becoming wild beasts. As more dragons were born in the wild, these dragons lost thier discipline and started to become hostile towards citizens of Incendium. As the dragon population continued to grow, dragons began to migrate to other kingdoms of Daledon causing even more chaos. Decades later, the people of Daledon came together and declared war against the dragons, thus the start of the The Dragon War.
