The Old Carver Mansion

Southwest of town

Located along the road from Beverly, the old Carver place lies halfway up Elm Mountain on a knoll cleared of trees.   The mansion has been in the Carver family since shortly after the founding of New Jerusalem. Alexander Carver, great-uncle of Randall, last lived in it. Alexander Carver died shortly after the turn of the century. Unmaintained and uninhabited, the entire roof has since collapsed into the rest of the house. All that remains of the once great house is a crumbling masonry ruin, a threat to any who would try and explore it.   The darkened ruin-blocked basement is still intact as the ancient hardwood floor above it has not yet given way, but soon it will. Within the basement may still remain possessions of the Carver family and perhaps even clues to the notorious disappearance of Randall Carver.
