Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Milo is a man of little class, his fashion is scruffy and generally ugly. He likes his stain ridden shirt sleeves rolled up above his elbows and his collar pulled up around his neck. His hair is puffed and spiked at the fringe. After the loss of his wife, dirt and residue gradually built up behind his ears, as he no longer had his love there to comment on it. The bridge of his nose is bent slightly, from a injury acquired from a bar fight that never healed properly.

Only two things come to mind when the name Milo Tealeaf is said, that he is the absent father of the esteemed ranger, Webley Tealeaf, and that his life was an utter failure in the eyes of everyone who knew him.
Born into the Tealeaf household during the second year of the War of the Split, the oldest of five brothers, Milo's future seemed pretty bad already. The Tealeaves were a family of the most unlucky, poor, and disruptive members of halfling society. Many local halflings generally presume that the family were cursed long ago, and that any member of the family who looks to gain pride or power will be struck with such an unlucky blow that their entire life will be ruined. This was no exception for Milo. At fourteen he was arrested for the first time after stealing grain from the local store house. At sixteen he attempted to sign up for the militia, however he was rejected for being unfit for service.
However, it seemed as if his luck was turning when he was accepted into a position in a brewing centre run by the Brewers' Guild. During an errand when he was nineteen he met a beautiful woman, the daughter of the famed commander Merric Highhill. And the disbelief in both Milo and the people who knew him when Milo and Harana fell in love. One year after the Battle of the Midlands Milo and Harana got married, finally after generations of bad luck, someone in the Tealeaf family had achieved something, and married a Highhill of all people, a highly respected family on the complete opposite spectrum to the Tealeaves.
Then everything changed when Harana gave birth.
Webley wasn't unexpected, however it turned out that Milo was not ready for the responsibilities as a father. The long nights caring for the infant made him tired, he started to slack at work, his exhaustion only increasing. In order to ease his stress levels, he picked up heaving drinking. He was let go from his position after not realising a large leakage in the wine cellar. It seemed to him, that all his luck had left when his child was born; his wife, however, was still going strong with her standing. Harana was promoted to secretary in the government building.
The relationship between Milo and Harana started to deteriorate as Milo's wife got worse and Harana's life got better. It seemed that his jealousy of not sharing in her luck made him more and more sour, his drinking increased, and he was gone in the evenings for longer. When Webley was five, the fateful night came about. After a heavy evening's drinking, after what he called his friends finally abandoned him, he returned home stinking of cheap beer and whiskey. He opened the door, a quarter full bottle in his hand, a raging, verbal fight. No one outside of that room knows what actually happened. But someway or another, Harana died and Webley was later taken away by the authorities because his father was no longer able to look after him.
Milo would spend the last nine years of his life locked up in prison, once a year being able to send his child a gift on his birthday. When Webley was fourteen, Milo gave his belt, an heirloom that is passed down the Tealeaf generations, to every oldest son. A few weeks later that year, he died, caused by poisoning caused by some homemade moonshine, brewed in secret in his cell.

Milo has a very tight, rigid mouth when he pronounces the letter 'W' and this makes the sound shorter and less round than most other Cresterian accents. The way people in his region pronounce words like 'cow' or 'how' sounds a little more like a 'Y' than a 'W'.
