The Races of The Eight

Fifth major update. Now includes some stuff about their homelands as well.   Rennon - Red skinned, large human. Naturally stronger than the others, they have developed a more aggressive society and have mostly ruled the world through military might in a Roman Empire sort of way for the last several hundred years.  Home continent is Ennostwell.  High strength and constitution.   San - Violet skinned, very light purple, shorter like the greens. Fiercely independent, never developed much of a cohesive society. They were enslaved by the Lasskyrol and then the Rennon and now are largely ignored. They have a wild and very low tech continent. There are no cities and few towns. They are mostly nomadic and ritualistic. The Lasskyr and Voy Diurne have tried to decipher their language but it's too difficult and there are too many dialects. Since most of the plants and animals on their continent are poisonous there isn't a lot driving the other peoples to go there. The San tend to stay away from the coastal cliffs and never go out in the ocean because they know their history of enslavement and now just try to stay away from the rest of Creation.   Orange-Brown- Deep orange skin, some look almost brown. Basic human. Currently resisting the Rennon occupation. Their continent has the most open conflict. The Rennon rule the edges and the central lands are all Orange. Strength and intelligence are their key features.   Malkin - Silver skinned, slender human. High intelligence and dexterity. They tend towards the sciences and the finer crafts. They have the best night vision, sort of like a cat's. Home continent is Malkwell/Yimalkin .   Tormangi - Light blue skin, humanish. Very rare, scattered inhabitants of The Shattered. They've developed as strong swimmers and very capable sailors. They have a clan based society, strewn across the islands. They refer to themselves as the Scattered. Lots of variation in culture. Most clans inhabit one island of The Shattered each. Marriage between clans is common and produces a kinship but not by much; people who leave clans for marriage (typically women) are considered to be part of the new clan. They have long been oppressed by the Lasskyrs and the Rennon. Their main source of commerce is in Arcanum Crystals, both legal and illegal. The Arcanum Guild strictly controls all trade in Arcanum since it has powerful and unpredictable effects. High charisma and dexterity   Lasskyr -  Tall and slender, humanish, deep yellow in color, almost goldenrod. They were the first of The Eight to develop sailing ships and explore the world. Their general non aggressive nature led to the Rennon copying their technology and using it to conquer. They had a strong influence on the Rennon in philosophy and science. They're sort of like the Greeks to the Romans. They used ancient hordes of Arcanum to create the Grand Canal which drains the central lowlands and allows their continent to be the best for farming and pasture lands. High intelligence and wisdom   The Greens- Smaller human, sorta elfishy. Charisma and dexterity are their features. I really got nothin much on them yet.   Voy Diurne - Purple skin, like an eggplant. High wisdom and charisma. Continent is Palan Voyd. They spend a lot of time thinking. Subsequently their continent has been completely taken over by the Rennon as a resource spot. The Voy seem not to care. They have historically used Arcanum to create magical creatures. The wilderlands at the center of their continent are haunted and few go there. The major feature of their continent is a thin fracture called The Split starting in the middle of the eastern cliffs that goes straight to the center. Legends tell of a great shaking and thunderous cataclysm. Later, when they discovered the Shattered continent of the blues and matched up the timing of each legend it was determined that the destruction of the Blue continent was what created the great split.
