The Arboris Ruins

A small but archeologically fascinating structure seemingly abandoned hundreds of feet below the Hallenstier Mountains. It was discovered by dwarven miners under the direction of Thorgrin Stonepick shortly after the Fall of New Coralous, but wasn't fully explored until some time later.
In the deepest section of the ruins lies The Crystal Tree, which served as a namesake for the ruins in years to come.

History

Several years after the loss of New Coralous, an explorative team of dwarven miners came across an immense stonework chamber deep within the heart of the caverns. Perfectly preserved, the chamber appeared to be several thousand years old, and was lined with indecipherable geometric carvings. In the heart of the chamber, even more perplexingly, was The Crystal Tree, filling the room with its light.
For decades, scholars tried unsuccessfully to unravel the secrets of the ruins until an event in 4714 resulted in the ruins becoming sealed off by strange magical and technological means. Since then, the Arcana Academy has taken a more "hands-off" approach to studying the ruins, for fear of disturbing whatever defenses sealed it in the first place.
