The first excursion from The Elder Brain of the Illithid to the surface world. This outpost is used as a breeding ground for more Illithid, kidnapping other nearby races and transforming those strong enough to survive transformation into new illithid, while feeding on those too weak to gain more knowledge of the surface. This spot was chosen because it was once a crashed Vedalken ship being used as a home to those stranded here, with the Vedalken once living here completely subjugated as Thrall slaves. The day day operations are overseen by Irskör the Humiliated, who began leading this outpost after his crippling defeat in Camp Deepwatch by the council of Frostbound which left him permanently scarred.

BrinePool was originally the site of a crashed space craft piloted by Vedalken during a battle with The Elder Brain's fleet. The Vedalken used the wreckage as a campsite for decades before the Illithid tracked them here and conquered the encampment
