History: The Commonwealth of Drala is the name of the south eastern half of the Dragon’s Head Nebula in the north west of Fabian Space. First settled by the Tutha people of the 12th Fleet. The area which is now the Commonwealth of Drala was conquered by the Fabian Dominion who later abandoned the nebula and withdrew all forces to defend their falling borders. The Furse arrived shortly after the withdrawal, mostly those seeking shelter from the Skoll of the Old Ruins, and taking contracts with the local worlds to help defend them against the rising raiders and kingdoms.
After many Furse were betrayed by the Fabian Tutha peoples, more arrived and conquered what is now Commonwealth Space from the Fabian Tutha, pushing them to the western reaches against the Void of Eriu where they continue to fight the Old Blood Furse who stole their worlds, as well as the Tutha from across the void of Eriu, the last of the pure Tutha, and the Fabian Tutha of the United Worlds of Kaledon in the north of the Dragon’s Head Nebula, those Tutha the Fabians could not conquer but which later converted to the Fabian Faith.
The Old Blood Kingdoms fought one another as much as they fought the Tutha for control of the Dragon’s Head Nebula. For thousands of years the Old Blood Furse built the most powerful kingdoms in Drala, and converted to the Fabian Faith. These kingdoms would unite into the four major kingdoms of the Old Blood, Umbria, Furia, Warwick, and Daxholm until the Great Savage Host, led by the children of Rothgar arrived in the Dragon’s Head Nebula to avenge the death of the great Rothgar ‘The Lost King’ Ring Aegis in 9,030. Within a few years all the Old Blood Kingdoms were brought down by the forces of the Great Savage Host.
King Osgar ‘The Great’ Gisking, King of Daxholm reclaimed his throne, and defeated the Great Savage Host, and created a peace which split the Old Blood kingdoms between Old Blood Furse and the Furse of the Great Savage Host. Osgar spent his life defending against the Furse and reclaiming and fortifing worlds in a dream of a united nation that covered all the old kingdoms. It would be his grandson, Wynnstan who would fulfil that dream with the creation of the Commonwealth of Drala in 9,154 ASU.
The south east of the Dragon’s Head Nebula, also known as Commonwealth Space is the most powerful and populous section of Drala, as the Dragon’s Head Nebula is known. Although the Commonwealth still faces threats from Furse raids from across the Nord Void, Tutha raids from across the Void of Eriu, and attacks and raids from the Fabian Tutha of Walhaz to their west, and the United Worlds of Kaledon to their north. Even threats from the south, across the Dralan Trade Route, and the Kingdom of the Salians have risen in years.
The Commonwealth of Drala is one of the most powerful and wealthy nations in Fabian Space, but are still troubled by the descendants of the Great Savage Host who still cling to the ways of their ancestors, and who encourage their brethren from across the Nord Void to join them.
