Refining Eneleizion

Eneleizion produced electricity then heated or as it vibrated at the frequency of the speaking voice. this made it exceptionally hard to harness in the refinement place as the tools either had to be tempered in a specific away (that would wear off shortly after), or all sound had to be eliminated from the room for fear of any vibration causing the production of electricity, which was impossible to achieve at that time. It had not helped the miners and refiners of Thaigh Dural that they did not know exactly how and when the electricity was produced as they did not have a way to measure it.

Measuring Electricity

It was Shapers of the The Shaperate that actually volunteered their early clerics to test when electricity was produced. These specific clerics were eager to see if electricity would eradicate the charagma, and though there were no results to that effect, the Shapers that remained largely intact would go on to tell of the eneleizion. Luckily, no shaper died during this process, though at least 5 of the clerics grew to have neurological disorders due to the amount of volts produces.

The Discovery of Electromagnetics

Because eneleizion tourmaline has minute magnetic properties this began the first glimpses into "magical forces that repelled or attracted one another". For example, eneleizion will often magnetically interact with those of other eneleizion clusters. Thaigh Dural and interested scholars attempted to explain and control this phenomenon, which eventually resulted in the Two-Circle experiment.   Essentially, two wooden circles were fitted to one another but allowed the movement of either. The dust of the crystal was lacquered onto each circular plank, and a single, solid eneleizion crystal was placed in the center. When chanting began, the circles began to spin and the central crustal struck out in electrical discharges at the planks. The chanting ceased, but the heat of the electrical strikes and the friction between the two wooden circles caused enough heat to keep of the process.   The circles eventually burst into flames, but by this experiment, a greater understanding of electromagnetism was achieved.

The Old Ones and Eneleizion

Due to the primitive machines that Thaigh Dural built, interest began to grow in the old machines underground, such as the Iron Gier. When it was noted that Eneleizion could briefly and poorly power the Old One's technology, including a Iron Gier, refinement became imperative. At this point, it was widely understood that the larger a crystal was, the more power it had in it, usually. There was only so much heat that the crystal could absorb, and only so much sound one could produce to power the crystal. That and, it   Several experiments went on, but by an accident occurred that helped the breakthrough; a particular caused a crystal to fall and split in two; fearing that it's power had been halved, it was quickly tested and revealed that crystals were actually capable of producing more power. This began a deeper understanding of surface area which was needed for the later processes of refinement. However, refinement was still very difficult to achieve without the right kinds of tools. As stated before, the crystal could react to heat and sound produced, which required a material to be a retardant to electricity, dampening its effects.

Koi Whale Blubber and Electrical Dampening

Finally, the first steps of refinement could begin when peaceful trade relations were reached between Thaigh Dural the The Ykalu, famous for their Boathomes. As hunters of the Koi Whale, they often had not much use of the huge amounts of blubber the whale produced. As such, while much of it could be refined for the engines of The Crown City, or common lamps, it was later utilized as an electrical dampener.   This was suggested to a particular refiner when an envoy returned from a shoreclan of the Ykalu, noting the whales would float above the ocean at times, even in storms, and seem unaffected by lightning, if struck.   When the blubber was used, the oils prevented refiners from becoming electrocuted during their work. Nowadays, the most common shape of a refined eneleizion core is a latticed sphere.

Manufacturing and Availability

Because Thaigh Dural presently sits atop the largest ore deposit of eneleizion tourmaline, production is fairly slow, however, as there is not a great demand for the stones or their refinement any longer; much of the cores have already been distributed to the Iron Gier, the only added need for a crystal that produces electricity are civilizations interested in technology, particularly that of The Old Ones.   Much of the stone is then reserved for nobility, the craft of eneleizion refinement safeguarded by the elders of three families.
