Karnifex
Greater Demon of Conquest, Bloodshed, and Destruction
The story of Karnifex is a tragic one. He was once a Dwarf, an honourable standard bearer for a clan long lost to the sands of time. His clan had successfully retaken their mountain hold from a species of large insect, and they thought themselves safe. He had led a company personally to defeat the last of the bigs and plug the hole from whence they came. The dwarves had moved in their families when they heard a rumbling down below. He went to fight on the front line, and fought he did to hold of the insects. Every dwarf in the hold had died, and he was still fighting, swinging his massive war axe, killing insects by the dozens. In his last moment of despair, Aloth whispered in his ear, and promised him the strength to not only defeat the insects, but defeat all foes who would ever stand in his way. He agreed, and was turned into the beast he is today. He defeated every single insect, but nothing he did could bring his clan back.
After realising what he had become, and all he had lost, he became angry. Angry at the world he was born into, angry at the fate that had befallen him, angry at the gods of "order" who claimed to protect them. He now saw the world for what it really was, ruled by those who could take what they wanted, and that he would be the one to take it all. since then he has roamed the mortal plane, conquering and destroying all that lay before him. He is now a being of pure anger.
