Kingdom of Ardun

The Kingdom of Ardun was a galtic monarchy in the continent of Bruna. Established during the Rust Age, it grew into a considerable regional power until the Steel Age, and eventually collapsed during the Ardunan Revolution and ensuing civil war. It was succeeded by the syndicalist Commonwealth of Ardun, though a nationalist government in exile based on the Durwyn Isles remained in power for nearly a decade afterwards.

History

Founding

The origins of the Kingdom of Ardun can be traced back to the Ardunnon Tribe from the Age of Iron. One of the last galtic confederations to be conquered by the Meron Supremacy, the Ardunni remained infamously resistant to Meron rule, with Emperor Francus II remarking that they were "both hard to govern, and hard to kill".   Two major revolts broke out in the span of a decade after their official annexation, with several smaller ones in between, but all were violently repressed. It wasn't until the very end of the Age of Gold, when the Supremacy was deeply destabilized, that the warlord Fennar Falkrun managed to gather the neighboring tribes into the Third Great Northern Revolt, expelling the Meron armies from the region. This led to Fennar being crowned the first Alderking in over two thousand years, a deeply significant event to all who followed the Old Faith. As other tribes and confederations joined his cause, King Fennar established the Kingdom of Ardunnon, which would be ruled by his dynasty for the next thousand years.
