The Hook

A large subcontinent of Hisenor, The Hook is so named because of how it hooks out from the continent proper. It's position leaves it exposed to a number of hot winds that blow up from the equator, leading to, especially along the coastlines, warm, dry climates and even deserts. The Hook contains six nations and is considered the poorest sub-continent of Hisenor.

Geography

While the hook comprises of warm, dry lands for the most part, it also contains Hisenor's second largest mountain range, The Dragonspire peaks. There are also other mountain ranges where the sub-continent meets the rest of the continent. Sandwiched between these mountains and dry lands, it is not uncommon to find strips of highly fertile land.
