The next few days, Preston had started noticing some changes to himself. He felt like his senses were more sensitive than usual, like he was constantly aware of what was happening around him. His reaction speed would also get better, and his strength was significantly higher than he remembers it being. He'd also have more of those vivid dreams, about some doomsday event, where he was Spider-Man every time. He'd woken up on the ceiling twice, luckily his little brother Theo was still asleep. While hanging out with his cousins, Rhys and Zarya for Rhys's birthday, they were playing baseball in the backyard. He hit the baseball and it flew very far into the distance. Theo, Rhys, and Zarya had asked him how he did that, and Preston just claimed he didn't know, cause he didn't.

Preston spends the next few months training his abilities and getting used to his new flexibility. He starts doing nightly patrols of Downtown Lowell and gets a little bit of experience with crime-fighting. He also tells his younger brother Theo about what happened and shows off his new powers to him.

One day Rhys wakes up and finds that his hands have turned metal. He freaks out and tries to show his family however whenever he does his hands turn back to normal. He ends up having a dream where he talks to someone named Roy Harper, who tells him that what's happening is nothing to freak out over, and he shows Rhys a couple tricks he can do with his metal hands, which he can form into different things like a cup or a blaster of sorts. Rhys begins to test this out in real life and finds that he can do the things that he did in his dream. He begins feeling comfortable and kind of quickly figures out the mechanics of his new hands.

Before heading back to the crystal hunter base, Doctor Light visits his mother in Amsterdam. As he talks to her, they reflect on the past, and things get a bit emotional. Suddenly, Light gets a ping on his crystal finding device showing that the crystal he's been hunting is actually in Amsterdam. He leaves his mother urgently and heads to where the crystal is.

Following their battle with Doctor Light, Rhys and Zarya Li wake up in the hospital the next day. They have healed pretty fast, according to the doctors, and are able to leave later that day barring any questions from the police. Everyone seems to remember things differently from them, and the police let them go after a couple of questions because of how nonsensical they seem. As they leave, they see a familiar face. They end up staying one more day than intended, leaving back to America the next day.

Over the next couple months, Phillip spends his free time studying his abilities and training with the Guardians. After school starts this amount of time significantly decreases, so his training time is allotted to the weekends if he doesn't get too much homework.

Billy and Connor Chan find out that their younger brothers have been doing hero stuff with essence crystals. A secret is revealed about the family history and they warn them about the dangers that they could face as crystal users.

Wes and Jade Chi decide to drive to Massachusetts to visit family. Wes introduces them to his girlfriend Kira Liang and Jade her boyfriend Steve Walsh.

One morning while in Vietnam, Grant Le wakes up to screaming going on around him. As he opens his eyes he sees his family running out of the room, and as he tries to speak his words are replaced by a loud roar. He passes by a mirror to find himself staring straight at the face of a green tiger. He scares himself and runs out on to the street where people begin to freak out at the sight of him and begin to run away. He tries to catch up to his family, but is suddenly trapped in some kind of force field by Zatanna, who seemingly appears out of nowhere. She says something, and Grant suddenly feels very sleepy and blacks out. Next thing he knows, he wakes up in the same room to find everyone resting, except Zarya. Zarya has a discussion with Grant and tells him about the process he's about to go through. Over the next few days, Grant wakes up as different animals, and his skin becomes visibly greener. Zarya tries her best to use spells to mask these changes from everyone else.

After returning from Vietnam, the Titans get together and Zarya tells them about Vietnam and what happened to Grant. Grant asks if he can join them and although there are some worries among the group about how dangerous it could be, they figure it would probably be safer if they were there to help him with his powers.

It's prom night for Phillip Li, and the Guardians tell him to go and have fun while they stay on guard at his house in case the twins come. Phillip feels bad, but the Guardians insist he shouldn't miss out this night, so he goes. That night, the twins appear, however to the Guardians surprise they have brought others with them. The twins tell the Guardians that they're only their for the kids and what's inside them. A fight begins between the two groups, with the twins' group having the advantage. The Guardians are a bit overwhelmed until Phillip shows up and evens up the fight. During the fight, the Guardians receive distressing news about Kaiden and Riia Li's conditions, and choose to keep it from Phillip in fear of him acting irrational and putting himself in more danger. The twins get noticeably weaker and Phillip and the Guardians are able to subdue them and their team. This is when the twins reveal the truth about what is happening to Kaiden and Riia to Phillip, forcing on him a decision that he really doesn't want to make but feels like he has to.

While trying to fall asleep, a bright green glow emits from the window of Jane Smith's room. As she opens her blinds, the glow dimmers and Jane is able to see a crystal floating in front of her window. She opens it and the crystal floats in, filling her with a sense of awe. Awe quickly turns to shock when the crystal appears to talk to her. It tells her that it's been monitoring her for a few months and wants to help her get what she wants. When she asks why her, the crystal reveals that her life kind of reflects that of Jessica Cruz the Green Lantern and it knows how to help her face her fears and achieve greatness like she did. Jane accepts the offer and the crystal becomes a jade looking bracelet on her wrist.

Preston, Zarya, Theo, Grant, and Rose go on a trip to Salem for Halloween. While there, they find themselves in the middle of an occult gathering. All in one night they experience a kidnapping, a ritual, and a fight which ends up in the Teen Titans making a new enemy, and leaves Rose with an Essence Crystal infused in her containing the essence of Raven.

The next few months of being grounded, Rose Le secretly engages in conversations with the essence infused in her. Because the essence is not necessarily bonded to Rose, yet she still has the powers, the essence is able to actually teach her about her powers and how to control them. Unfortunately, she is unable to practice on actual enemies, and is able to train only during mental simulations. She learns fast, and by the time she gets actual experience she is pretty efficient at it.
