Redbridge

The fields east of The Bluevein River were once forest, but were cut down long ago to provide the lumber necessary to build the settlement now known as Redbridge. West of the now-famous bridge is a large grazing area that extends west beyond the road to The Village of Wreath.

Demographics

Government

Redbridge follows the standard practice of using a mayor as the extended representation for the Vardan crown.

Defences

Three small sheltered guard shacks are located at equal intervals from each other on the northern side of the town, following the contour of the village's shape about 50 yards from the nearest structures. These are to be constantly manned, with a double assignment of guards and increased rotation at night. During the day, there are only two shifts, morning, and afternoon. At night, there are three shifts starting at sundown, and then rotating about every 4 hours with the double the personel. Additionally, there are a pair of guardhouses, one at each entrance of the village, the larger of the two located on the Red Bridge itself.

Infrastructure

Besides its famous bridge which is capable of holding 4 carriages side-by-side with ease, the town enjoys the use of well maintained coblestone roads and some rudimentary sewage drains. Being the 3rd least populous town in front of Ceplic makes clever use of the river to irrigate its fields further into the eastern farmlands through canals that go straight through the town. Additionally, as a hub for agricultural trade, it's windmills are highly prized for their production capabilites.

Architecture

Much of the human and halfling buildings possess basic wattle and daub style buildings with thatched roofs and the occasional shingled, or rarer still, tiled roofs. The sensibilities are a bit more ornate than Wreath, but not terribly. This close to the forest, as most can expect, the buildings tend to be made of wood, though a significant portion are partially made with stone, even entirely so if the owner is wealthy enough.

Geography

The majority of the area is quite flat, though it becomes slightly hilly towards the west. The Bluevein River directly to the west allows for quick access down to Wolfsburg or Varderal eventually. The Wreathwood's eastern reaches lie to the north and whispers of @Ravenrock Henge to the northeast still hang in the people's ears like the night's cold.

Natural Resources

Lumber from the forest is plentiful, as well as the bounty from the river including its precious water. Sheep, cattle, swine, and poultry of various kinds are all raised here and tend to live well until the moment they're slaughtered for food. The soil under the farm fields to the east and south of the village are full of nutrients and have been well maintained, though recently there have been some areas of patchy dry wheat to no reasonable explanation.
