T'üllma

Üllemic: Lo-Imrazú T'üllma /lɔːʔɪmɾaːzuː th'ylːma/
Archaic: Tü'üllma /th'yːʔylːma/
T'üllma is a dwarven constitutional monarchy in the southern Qug Mountains in central Jælondis, and a major power both in the highlands as well as Borgalor at large, bordered by Iriq'ann to the west, 'Os Nöröt to the north, Pfiþós-E'ehir to the northeast, Eraft'oll to the east, and the region of Ytvía to the south. Its capital and largest city is Pfepfenirt'a to the east, and is currently ruled by King Qúlf XI.
Like its rival Eimpfiq'elía in the eastern mountains, T'üllma's current status emerged as a world power after the Fell Wars devastated much of human and -to lesser extent- elven civilization in Borgalor. The kingdom is known for its fine textiles and high-quality metals, winter resorts, art, music and cuisine, and one of Borgalor's largest corporations, Qe'e Co., is headquartered in Pfepfenirt'a.
Üllemic, the official language of T'üllma, is one of the world's lingua francas.

Religion

Most T'üllmans adhere to a branch of highland dwarven polytheism centered around Üdó, god of the wind and creator of all flying creatures, and in particular the teaching of Püric Hö, a monk at the A'aphó Monastery believed to have received visions from the god some four hundred years ago, along with texts written by his disciples.
Unlike in countries such as Eimpfiq'elía, where only the monarch and a handful of others are believed to be able to communicate to the gods directly, followers of Püric Hö believe that one's prayers can reach the deities either with the help of monks or by undergoing a pilgrimage to Mt. T'wan in northwestern T'üllma, which includes circumambulating the mountain while praying and leaving votive offerings at shrines dedicated to the great sage along the way.

Agriculture & Industry

T'üllma is a highly industrialized country, and a major center of both mining and refining a number of ores and minerals, including magic crystals, as well as manufacturing various magitech devices, from power tools to vehicles to computers.

Education

The A'apfó Monastery and associated university in Apfó have long been one of the main centers of religious and secular education in the Qug Mountains, and receive a number of exchange students from all over Borgalor each year.

Infrastructure

The country is divided into several provinces, each centered on a settlement near or surrounding an important temple, monastery or other shrines. These provinces are:
  • Aqó to the northeast.
  • Illüp to the northwest, centered on the city of Apfó.
  • Pfö to the west.
  • T'óll to the south.
  • Únirt to the east, centered on Pfepfenirt'a.
  • As in most other highland dwarven countries, the towns and cities of T'üllma are connected via network of both roads and underground tunnels, with the former used for shorter distances during summer and the latter throughout the year. The tunnels connecting major religious sites are divided into wider, often ornate ones for the general public on one hand and simpler, narrower ones intended for pilgrims on the other, separated by a colonnade.
