Hmargic: Hmarg /m̥aːɺk/
Númric: Jötor Kmarga /jœthɔːr khmarkaː/
Njóþic: Mark' /mːarkʼ/

Hmarg is a republic and one of the main countries of Rúþría, a subantarctic region in the northern Southlands, bordered by Númra to the west, the Þemzó Sea to the north and Tos Q'eillen to the east. The country's capital is Nemm, located inland upon the river Gútúrg which connects it to the port town of Hlúpa to the north.
One of Rúþría's smaller states, Hmarg is one of the most popular places for tourists -particularly southlanders- to visit, due to the country's unique culture, colourful architecture and delicious cuisine.
The current president of Hmarg is Hreó.

History

The first Orcs to explore this region was a group hailing from what is now Zónt in western Örkraz. According to tradition, the team was led by a shaman who ever since arriving to the Southlands was so drawn to a place up the river Gútúrg that he barely let his companions rest, himself refusing to eat or sleep until their journey was complete. Once they reached the spot, the shaman said "I am finally home" before collapsing from exhaustion.
When he recovered, it is said that the explorers later brought people and materials from Örkraz to the site to settle it, while the shaman remained to perform complex rituals to bless the place, and had even laid the foundation for the oldest shrine in Nemm.
Seventeen years ago, Hmargans uncovered the fossilized remains of a prehistoric orc on the spot where the shaman uttered his famous words, which along with similar archaeological discoveries has attracted scholars from Hneknúrk-öm University in Örkraz who wish to study early orcs and their relatives.

Structure

Hmarg is divided into two provinces, namely Hlúp-Zerp centered around the port of Hlúpa to the north, and Nemm-Zerp to the south, centered around the capital.
