Ryam Redwyne is the Lord of Gulltown and only child of Runceford Redwyne and his wife Bessie.

Personal history

Ryam spent much of his early life as a ward of Lord Gormon Peake at his castle of Whitegrove, after his cousin Gilbert Redwyne left the Citadel he started serving Gilbert as his squire. He was given the island of Greatskull in the Stepstones by Lord Davos Baratheon but after the Subjugation of the Vale, King Aemon I Blackfyre granted him the bigger prize of Gulltown.

When Prince Daemon Blackfyre was sent to Lys on a diplomatic mission, Ryam was chosen to act as his squire.

In the year of 219 A.C Lord Ryam stopped a treasonous plot by Lord Jasper Arryn, arresting him and presenting the evidence to the Crown, said actions resulted in the stripping of the titles of Lord Arryn, who was sent to the Wall, and Redwyne being appointed as Lord Protector of the Vale and regent over Jasper's young son, Lord Jon Arryn.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Ryam killed a slaver at age ten, by shooting him with a scorpion as he attempted to board the ship he was in. Lord Redwyne has proven himself to be a remarkable tourney fighter, making a name for himself in the tourneys of Starpike and in the wedding tourney of Prince Valerian Blackfyre. At the age of 21 Ryam was named by the Crown as the new Lord Protector of the Vale, after exposing a treasonous plot by Lord Jasper Arryn.

Contacts & Relations

Ryam and his liege lord, Jasper Arryn, had a deep animosity for one another, since before the latter's tenure as lord of the Eyrie and it only worsened as time went by. 

During his time at King's Landing, as squire to Lord Gilbert Ryam developed a strong friendship with Gormon Meadows, as well as good relations with Beron Stark and Barquis Peake.

Family Ties

Ryam is nephew to Lady Desmerra Fossoway and Alexandra Redwyne, Regent of the Stormlands, making him quite well connected. His cousin Gilbert is the Lord of the Sisters.  As part of the conditions for him to receive the lordship of Gulltown, Ryam agreed to marry lady Jeyne Belmore, from one of the most powerful houses of the Vale, and has had 2 children with her.
