King Aemon is the oldest living child of the late King Daemon I Blackfyre, succeeding his father to the throne after his death defending the City of King's Landing from rebels under the command of Lord Vance.
A competent man, Aemon is known to be bold but never reckless, once word of the Ironborn attack at White Harbor reached the capital the King assembled a mighty fleet and led the counteroffensive personally.

Young Aemon took part in his first battle at the age of twelve, fighting alongside his twin brother Prince Aegon on the Redgrass field, under his father's banners.
When Riverlands outlaws affiliated with the Mad Clucker kidnapped a lady of House Frey, Prince Aemon and his twin brother joined the daring group of heroes that risked themselves to save her.
During the attempted usurpation of the Crown by Maekar Falseborn Aemon fought under his father's banner at the battle of to the Kingswood, together with Ser Quentyn Ball of the Kingsguard.
During the Subjugation of the Vale, Prince Aemon took control of the Royal Fleet and aided Lord Gormon Peake in his campaign on the southern part of the Vale, as well as ferrying troops.
