Gormon Peake

Lord Gormon Peake (a.k.a. Gormy)

Lord Gormon Peake was a notable supporter of Daemon Blackfyre during the Great Blackfyre Rebellion in 196 AC, remembered as one of the great knights that gathered to the king's side, during the rebellion he fought under the Black Dragon at the Battle of the Redgrass Field where he commanded the center and personally slew many supporters of the usurper Daeron, after the battle Gormon personally knighted some of the braver or more accomplished fighters, among them his squire Florian Fossoway. When the king marched to King's Landing to finish the war he commanded Lord Gormon to take a portion of the army to Bitterbridge and hold it against the Tyrell forces. For his services during the war, and personal bravery at the Battle of Bitterbridge, King Daemon bestowed upon him the castle of Bitterbridge, and most houses of the northern portion of the Reach as his vassals. When king Daemon established his Small Council in 198 Gormon was chosen as the Master of Laws. In 199 Gormon founded, alongside a large number of nobles from the Reach, the Greenhand Brotherhood of Trade. In the year of 200 Gormon along with many fellow powerful Reach lords formed the Gardener Alliance, a group of Old Houses from the Reach unsatisfied with the abuses of Lord Jorah Tyrell, among the reasons listed by the Alliance's members were the brutalizing of subjects, violations of vassal rights and overtaxing. After their forces managed to subdue Highgarden with no need for a battle Lord Jorah Tyrell was sent to the Wall for his crimes and King Daemon made Gormon his new Lord Paramount of the Reach. When Maekar Falseborn landed in the Stormlands to launch his rebellion Gormon mobilized the loyal houses in the Reach with the Blackfyre loyalists winning several victories before linking up to the King's army in the Kingswood where Maekar was defeated. During the offensive against the Vale Gormon led the southern part of the campaign, bringing Wickenden, Gulltower, Runestone and Ironoaks back to the King's Peace. After Lord Aegor Bittersteel resigned he was named Hand of the King, to king Aemon I.
