Barquis is the firstborn son of Lord Gormon Peake and his first wife Lady Sabitha Peake, and heir to the lordship of the Reach.

Apparel & Accessories

Barquis is rather fashionable and is seldom seen without a rich and extravagant cloak adorning his shoulders.
He owns several impressive suits of armour that he wears both to war and during tourneys.

He owns two greatly treasured weapons who were given to him by his two closest friends, a black hilted sword with an emerald pommel gifted to him by Beron Stark, and a dragonbone dagger gifted to him by prince Valerian Blackfyre.

Personal history

Barquis spent most of his early life at Bitterbridge or Starpike with his family, at 207 when his father was appointed as Hand of the King he, along with his family moved to King's Landing. Once at King's Landing Gormon made sure to look for his children's future, arranging for Barquis to wed Princess Visenya once they got of age and for him to act as King Aemon's squire, both arrangements that were very well received by Barquis.
During his stay at King's Landing Barquis forged his most enduring friendships, with his brother in law Prince Valerian Blackfyre and Lord Beron Stark.
When his eldest sister, Mina, was wed to Lord Torgen Oakheart, Houses Peake and Oakheart made a large tourney, that included both a melee and a joust for squires, Barquis was the victor of the melee and reached the final of the joust, where he was unhorsed by his cousin, Ser Gormon Meadows.

Education

Given his status as heir of the Reach and squire to the king Barquis received the best education money could buy, being trained in arms by great knights, receiving lessons from competent maesters and being taught the mysteries of the Faith by a high ranking Septon.

Employment

Barquis was one of the squires of King Aemon I Blackfyre, alongside his brother in law Crown Prince Valerian, a very prestigious position for a young man. Barquis was named as Knight Castellan of Starpike by his father and tasked with ruling over the Reach on his behalf while Lord Gormon remained at the capital, fulfilling his duties as Hand of the King.

Accomplishments & Achievements

At the age of three and ten Barquis was the victor of the melee in the tourney held by his father at Starpike, and he was the runner up in the joust, being unhorsed by his cousin, Gormon Meadows.
Barquis rode with the king into the Riverlands during the rebellion of Lady Danelle Lothston, and along with Prince Valerian undertook a dangerous mission to infiltrate the enemy camp and spread dissent to ensure the morale of the army was low enough that they would surrender without a fight. A mission they were successful in.
Upon his return to King's Landing, Barquis was knighted by King Aemon I Blackfyre in a ceremony held in the throne room. 
During the attack on his sister Tristina's wedding, Barquis distinguished himself fighting to protect his family from assassins and bribed guards.

Failures & Embarrassments

During the melee in the Tourney celebrating the 20th anniversary of Blackfyre rule, Ser Barquis was knocked out by a single attack from Lord Lyonel Baratheon, a defeat he did not take lightly.

Contacts & Relations

He has a very close friendship with Lord Beron Stark and Crown Prince Valerian Blackfyre, seeing both men as almost brothers. Among his circle of friends he also includes his cousin, Ser Gormon Meadows, Prince Lucerys Blackfyre and Lord Ryam Redwyne.
After years squiring for King Aemon I Blackfyre, Barquis began seeing him as a trusted mentor.

Family Ties

Barquis is completely infatuated with his wife, Princess Visenya Blackfyre, and has been that way since before they married, and does his best to be a good husband for her and a good father to his two daughters by her, Yrma and Rhaena.
He has a good relationship with all of his siblings being a caring, if slightly protective, older brother, he is closest to his twin sister Daena, his older sister Tristina and his brother Emerick, lord of Goldengrove.

Barquis is a firm devout of the Seven, specially in regards to the tenets of the Faith in relation to the knighthood vows.

Social Aptitude

Unlike his father, Barquis is gregarious and companionable and has little trouble making new friends and acquaintances. Since very young he has been a very confident person, though some of that was shattered after his very public defeat in the hands of Lord Lyonel Baratheon.

Hobbies & Pets

As a proper young nobleman, Barquis enjoys hunting and hawking, owning a prized hunting falcon he named Honorbound. Other than that he often fishes with his siblings and father, when the latter's schedule allows.
