Hive Imperatus
Hive Tyrannus has the power of wealth, Hive Dominus the power of technology. Yet Hive Imperatus rules the most important aspect of all, Faith.
The city has been constructed around a massive central temple in devotion to the God-Emperor of Mankind, the one true ruler of the galaxy. Temples, shrines, and catacombs dominate most of the surface area of the hive city, with each smaller allied city a copy of its infrastructure. The people in the city live sober lives, living on what they need and giving the rest to the temples so that those in need maybe helped. Despite this charity, many areas live in relative poverty, in stark contrast with the beautiful, shining beacon that is the Church of Man.
Hidden deep beneath layers of zealotry, far down into the bowels of the under city, lie the Houses of Transcendence. These are dens of debauchery that bend and break the faith of Man in every possible way. Most places of worship are flooded with the fumes of every kind of stimulating substance and incense, as the planetary air circulation systems hardly reach so deep into the ground.
As such, communion with the spirit of the Emperor is not unheard of, and these visions serve as inspiration for the strangest of rituals. Anything from mass orgies, to ritual suicides. All to give power, and glory to the God-Emperor!
