New Hudson City Settlement in Bad Future | World Anvil

New Hudson City

New Hudson City has been the financial capitol of the world for a century or more. The economic collapse and subsequent purchase by Argus Transatlantic has changed the city dramatically. The divide between rich and poor, while ever present, has become even more stark. The city's core, Midtown and the Financial District, are only accessible by Argus Platinum Citizens and above, the entire Center Island as a whole only open to Gold Citizens. As such, illicit travel is at an all time high.
Where Center Island is a world of freedom and entertainment, other districts find themselves ruled under a corporate police state. While the same rifle carrying patrols frequent Center Island, they are much less restrained in poor, run-down districts. Even though much more impoverished companies (as compared to the Patronage 200) have offices in these districts, the rights of their employees and other citizens are regarded more as suggestion than they are immutable and inalienable.
While Center Island is wholly controlled and operated by Argus, these other districts are rife with subcontracting for motivated parties.

Government

Owned and operated by Argus North America and Argus Municipal Solutions.

Defences

Center Island is fairly well fortified physically with seawalls and various tech protecting usual transit methods into the city. Other districts vary in their protection based on their value to Argus or other local authorities.

Infrastructure

Deteriorating.
