Argus Transatlantic Organization in Bad Future | World Anvil

Argus Transatlantic

Argus Transnational is what every young, bright eyed multi-national aspires to be. Argus Transatlantic advised the federal government on the Municipal Patronage Act of 2019, which allowed states to pass laws allowing entities belonging to the Patronage 200 to purchase and administer municipalities across the country.
Even prior to the global economic collapse in 2019, Argus had extremely powerful pull within governments both local and overseas. Rumors surfaced that Argus had facilitated, or at the very least, allowed markets to free fall in order to take advantage of the situation with their vast reserves of capital.
Argus has brought all aspects of modern life together under one umbrella. With their purchase of the New Hudson City government, they began to ramp up roll-out of their MetNetOS program, which intended to provide every citizen with equal, fair, and open access to whatever Argus provided.
The everyman may be somewhat suspicious of Argus, but is sated by their ability to deliver distraction, entertainment, security, and survival in a single, easy to swallow package. More skeptical citizens may find their motivations less than noble.

Structure

Argus Transatlantic is run by CEO Merrill Tower. The board of Argus North America and Argus Municipal Solutions is made of the same fourteen members, and is based in the Financial District of New Hudson City. These subsidiaries are wholly owned by the parent entity and answer to Transatlantic's CEO and board. The Chairman of the Municipal Solutions and North America board is a foreign national, Anton Vilchis.

Public Agenda

Argus Transatlantic is a megacorp, one of the first chosen to be listed on the Patronage 200, a government approved list of business entities approved to buy and administer American municipalities.

Assets

The assets of Argus Transnational are impossible to list in short. They own subsidiaries in industries ranging from aerospace, defense, and technology to social media, entertainment, and even 'civil management.'   They own airlines. They own insurance. They own weapons. They own cities.

History

Argus Transatlantic was formed by a series of rapid mergers by a major tech company around the 2019 economic collapse. With it's immense wealth, it bought previously untouchable giants for pennies on the dollar, absorbing them into the megacorp as it exists today.   While markets were in freefall, governments around the world turned to Argus (and other Patronage 200 companies) to provide services they could not, and the Patronage companies were more than happy to help.
