The Xeo Pyramid

This ice is ancient and unnatural. It seems like an element that is apart from the natural laws of our material plane.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler
Located in the far north region of the Quassus Continent on the easternmost island of Garra. It is a five-sided pyramid seemingly made of unnatural and unmelting ice. It is a lonely and chilling sight upon the white landscape. No one can tell you how it was built.

Phidi's Discovery

The ice formation was so large and so unnatural that attracted the attention of the traveler Phidi Strideheart who is credited with discovering the structure in the frigid north of the northern continent. She describes the solitary mountain of ice as a five-sided pyramid, with designs seemingly carved just beneath the surface of the ice. Some of these runes she drew in her notebook, including the seven shapes believed to represent the Seven Ruined Wonders. She also managed to secure a fragment of the pyramid's unmelting ice.   Phidi later consulted lore-singers in a nearby camp concerning the pyramid. The lore-singers told tales that the pyramid was made well-before the rise of The Ancient Order and that the pyramid, and others like it, hold vast power within. One claim even says that only half the structure is apparent above the ice, the rest lying below.   No one has yet to prepare an expedition to begin excavating the structure that is rumored to exist beneath the ice. This structure possibly being quite like the The Silent Pyramid in the southern continent of Deshret.

Looking into the deep icy facade of this pyarmid must be what it is like to look up through the water on the ocean floor.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler

The Icy Facade

The five faces of the pyramid (or the part that is exposed depending on what you believe) is made of a smooth and dark-blue ice. The appearance is not unlike that of cobalt crystal. The most intriguing aspect about this facade, and Phidi is the only Traveler to make note of this, is that faint rays of light can be seem shimmering deep within the pyramid's ice. Maybe Phidi was there at the right time to witness this phenomena. As for what the phenomena was? It is possible that the pyramid gathers and then sometimes expends magical energy. Until a larger and better equipped expedition can make it to Xeo Pyramid, and Lunaria may be preparing such an expedition in spite of growing hostilities with Helia, very little will be understood about the structure's relationship with magic.

Northern Lights

Northern lights are a phenomena that is familiar to many denizens of the north, but they are particularly noteworthy above the Xeo Pyramid. The ribbons of light seem to brighten and encircle above the icy structure as if the space above the pyramid was a vortex.   What does this mean? Nobody is quite sure. It could mean that powerful magics are contained within the Xeo Pyramid. Maybe these lights and the pyramid itself are anomalies left behind by The Great Collapse.

If the Ancients had tried to cut into this structure, they either did not leave marks or simply could not leave marks.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler

Ancient Outpost Xeo

Near the Xeo Pyramid is a small collection of structures that belong to The Ancient Order. It is possible that they were studying the pyramid. It is impossible to know how much they uncovered since their work was lost in the collapse. Some claim that there are secret chambers that have yet to be uncovered and that these chambers contain unscarred records of the Ancient's work.

One of the Seven Ruined Wonders

The Xeo Pyramid is one of the Seven Ruined Wonders of the world, a set of ancient structures with mysterious origins and powers. Scholars know that Xeo is one of seven other wonders due to designs carved into the ice that are identical to to those found on The Silent Pyramid as well as the Ekla Pentagon (only three of the ancient wonders have been located so far, according to the collected knowledge of The Archivists Guild ).

A Cold Feeling

Phidi describes the area surrounding the Xeo Pyramid as being unusually cold and still. A constant freezing temperature no matter the time, day, or season. The very wind seems to whip around the icy pyramid effectively creating a cold and windy barrier that deters wildlife. The snowy ground adjacent was described by Phidi as being unusually brittle, a challenge to cross even in properly prepared snow boots.

I love the quotes from Phidi. The Xeo Pyramid sounds like it would be beautiful to look at. :)   The notes from the archivists made me spit out my tea - I wasn't expecting the lame pun. XD Love it!

Oooooo, so many puns here. Lol I laughed out loud quite a bit really. Great wordplay. It does indeed sound like a chilling sight. I really like this idea, and I'm intrigued by the light in the ice, the origins, and what's inside. Well done.

Thanks for the kind comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed the puns. Writing them helped to keep my creative processes from freezing up on this article.
