Wayhouse of Dara - Aenar
The Temple
The wayhouse is well kept up single story stone building. It is located in the harbor district, on High Tide Street.
Just above the sign is a river boat. The symbol of Dara is on the door.
The Inn
Atmosphere: The air is filled with the smell of freshly baked pie. The ambiance here is fancy. The inn is dimly lit only by sconces, and 7 ever glowing torches and a fire in the hearth. The clientèle of this establishment is rowdy. There is a well used Willow spear and it sits on the wall behind the bar.
InnPurpose / Function
A place to rest from the day's travels.A welcome sight to travelers who look forward to a good brew, some good food, and some conversation after a weary journey.
Architecture
The building is built around a White Ash frame, with irregular stone mixed in. The roof is covered with interlocking scalloped purple terra cotta tiles. The porch is creaky and needs some work. The upper story overhangs the lower by about five feet. The building has 10 glazed windows, with some being shuttered on the inside.
The main entry is through a stout Haven Mahogany door . The entranceway is richly decorated with fine White Ash wood paneling around its entirety. There is finely carved molding around the doors and archways. Here is located a long and finely crafted front desk. Upon it sits a fine iron bell and a large open book with leather binding.
Behind a yellow curtain doorway is a set of stairs going upstairs to a hallway.
History
The previous owner was Toate, that was when this inn was the Singing Eagle Inn. Now Alsi, owns the building and converted it into a Wayhouse of Dara. She runs the inn with her daughter Rosie.
