Friar/Curate

The clergy is male or female, and they join as soon as they can show they can take care of themselves. All races are welcome. They love freely and are consummate storytellers. Clerics can take on either the role as a Curate or Friar and can switch between them as they want. Both seek to learn and teach freely.

Qualifications

PP - Morality (Total) must be 0 or higher

PP - Personality (Carefree/Seriousness) -1

Requirements

You must have a Intelligence of 1 or higher

You must be an Archetype of Cleric, Entertainer or Specialist

You must have the Feat, Divine Agent (Dara)

Appointment

Those wanting to become Curates and Friars both start working at a wayhouse. If after a year, you have what it takes. You can apply and if approved you can take on the title of Curate. Then you must earn enough to open your own Wayhouse or you can inherit one to become a friar. Some curates and Friars take turns. Selections are made in the spring.

Duties

Curates stay at the Wayhouses and seek the stories and experiences of travelers as they pass through.

Friars seek life by going out and experiencing it firsthand, and they spread the word of The Traveler. They usually have some profession that they can teach and learn more about as they travel. Friars adventure to spread the word, teach, learn and experience life.

Responsibilities

You need to bring people into the church of Dara.

You are given a +1 holy talisman. This gives you a bonus to your transportation skill equal to your total power points.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Garb is common clothing, with some green in them. During services they wear a yellow sash and clean clothing. They also have a broach of Cata Iron, with the holy symbol on it. Dara followers are travelers and arm themselves when they travel. The weapon of choice for the Friars are staves, maces a saps. The friars will carry a crossbow in the field. They wear light or medium armor.
