Akila
The mining town of Akila has a population of 1k. Many dwarves that fled from the dragon invasion from so long ago found their home here as they developed deep mines in the mountains of Frost Stone. This village was one of the first sites of a human and dwarven joint settlement. As the dwarves mined and crafted weapons and armor, humans took up arms and defended the village from outside attacks. As it grew, many humans left to find a better home, leading to the creation of Lordric and the kingdom of Sermaleran. The dwarves, however, stayed behind and have been crafting weapons for Sermaleran soldiers ever since The Age of the Elf. A tavern/inn known as The Frosty Flagon is located here. The town is under the jurisdiction of Abram Vasilek.
Demographics
70% Dwarves, 20% Humans, 5% Elves, and 5% Half-elves. 45% middle class, 50% low class, 5% poor.
Defences
A stone wall is built from the northern mountains to the southern mountains and a guard tower is built at the two gates as three others are built along the road to Akila proper. There are watch towers built near the river to keep an eye out for any possible invasion by the Nordgards.
Industry & Trade
The people of Akila produce weapons and armor for the Sermal military as well as bake breads and dry some before shipping them back to The Vale as the finished product so that they can package the rations for the Sermal military. Akila is also known for making tools for all the settlements of Sermaleran.
Infrastructure
There are several mines built into the base of the mountain in Akila and several forges that create hundreds of tools, weapons, and armor weekly. They also utilize the nearby river to keep their forges lit and to grind down wheat from The Vale to bake breads.
Districts
To the far west at the base of the mountain is the Iron district, where the mines and smiths are located. To the north and between the Iron District and Market District is the Living district, where the local populace reside. To the south is the Market district, where travelers will find a general store, public smith, fletcher, carpenter, and The Frosty Flagon, a tavern/inn. Along the roads leading to Akila is the Farm district, where goat ranches and crop fields are tended to.
Guilds and Factions
Iron Oak Hall is a guild known for their stonework, metallurgy, and their whittling and carpentry. Several join to learn the trades of the different crafts. The Potts Foundation, founded by Lakron Potts, inventor of black powder, is an inventors club for those that seek knowledge of the mechanical and chemical.

The mines of Akila are a wondorous thing if one has the nerve to enter those dimly lit places. Darkened corners have attracted many an adventurer who seek to help the miners with any possible threat that may impede their productivity.

Those that visit Akila mainly come to view the finely crafted items of Iron Oak Hall or the inventions of the members from The Potts Foundation.
Architecture
Oak and stone are the primary building material here and the buildings are built in a way similar to pre-romanesque architecture.
Geography
The town is built between two large mountain ranges and sits beside a river. The winds are chilly as the temperature never rises above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
