Don't Call Me Daughter

General Summary

Anton roused the crew of the Mangy Dog, poised to wrest control of the Tranquil Angel out of Carmilla's hands. As they prepared to board, he received a message on a borrowed sending stone from Grom, telling him to meet at the Wizard's Tower Brewery immediately. Bringing along Big Tom, Skinny Pete, and Mute Bob, the six of them met up outside of town and headed towards the charred remains of the brewery. Once there they found a note tacked to the door stating the property had been ordered to be foreclosed upon. Inside they met Lindor's husband Gilraine Glowkindle who was overjoyed to see Grom, thinking him to be Lindor. Through him they learned that the Zullo family had called in debts and, when the brewery was unable to pay, used their control of the banks to order the property foreclosed upon. They also learned that the Glowkindles' daughter Cassandra had been killed in the fire that Ra'zon had started.   Gilraine began acting strangely, and led the party down into the basement, into the ruins of the wizard's tower that they had discovered in their initial mission. They found the ruins had been explored more in the time since they had been there last, and Grom  deduced that this tower was built by Kasius Darkshround. Gilraine led the group to a small chamber where a summoning circle had been inscribed upon the ground, surrounded by bloodrunes. He cast a scrying spell to find Lindor's murderers, and realized that Grom was actually in disguise. In desperation, Gilraine threw his own blood into the circle, completing the spell and summoning his deceased daughter, albeit in an unholy form of eldritch unlife. The party fought tooth and nail against the dark magic summoned by Gilraine, and while the group was successful Mute Bob was lost in the battle, cut in half by the abomination.   The party attempted to resurrect Mute Bob using the bloodrunes they found, but were unsuccessful. Realizing the endeavor would be more complicated than they initially assumed, they brought the body back to the Mangy Dog, and Grom used the guide to bloodrunes he discovered back in Darkshroud Keep to scribe a resurrection circle. The party used up most of the bloodrunes they had discovered but managed to resurrect Mute Bob, restoring his ability to speak in the process. Anton found his voice annoying and limited him to 25 words per day, and the party set out towards Onocrot Keep to rescue the Hildonian Crownmage Siegmar Umarov, who they discovered was scheduled to be executed in just a few hours at dawn.
