The Warchief of Revellia under Bethraal II, Lord Taranis is also the chief of Clan Dorn, a "household" clan with no fiefdom of its own. Lord Taranis squired under his father Caarl, who died fighting for Ruark Redeye in the Fourth Brothers Rebellion.
Lord Taranis Dorn was named after Tarana Dorn, a controversial queen who died a few years before his birth during the Third Brothers Rebellion. Taranis' grandfather, Cenedor, was the younger brother of Queen Tarana.
