Glass Arms
An offshoot of the Rathites, the Glass Arms are a gang of cutthroats and petty thieves roaming the swamps of the Rathlands. While the Rathites claim political legitimacy via resistance to Ethel supremacy, the Glass Arms are everything the lords say the Rathites are: kidnappers, brigands, murderers and worse. Having once been members of a militarized rebel faction, the Glass Arms are trained killers who, having become disillusioned with the various revolutionaries and their failure to achieve Rathi independence. More romantic tale tellers will claim the Glass Arms rob only the wealthy lords and those Ethels and Revellians that encroach upon their land, but such naive assertions have been disproven time again by the despoiled local merchants and slaughtered peat farmers. Some even say they steal away Rathi children to raise as future brigands, like the wicked Aernigh of old.
Long accustomed to fighting under banners, the Glass Arms have taken a sigil of crossed bones upon a field of midnight and moss. Rather than legitimize their banditry, however, this has led to their being dubbed swamp pirates by the local lords, and anyone found with such a sigil may be punished by death.
