Clan Furan

An ancient and now extinct clan, the Furans are said to have controlled Bianna Daern, Wilisgard, and Fairfield during the Imperial and Early Royal Age. They were called the Kings of Plenty, and their princesses were said to be as beautiful as the Deinain, the most famous of them being Olwen of the Four Flowers, who in some myths brings flowers and fruit and foison to the eastern Ithir Plains, and in some versions even draws the River Realta out of the earth and brings it to the Sea.   The Furans were wiped out sometime in the Lost Age, their lands taken by Clan Moyra, who had once been their vassals. The Moyras would eventually lose Wilisgard to Garland's Conquest and Fairfield to the much more pedestrian fate of the refounding of Swining, making them perennial foes of Flaithe the Storm Queen. The Moyras claim that a daughter of Clan Furan was promised to an heir of their clan (often called simply the Heir or the Moyra) but suddenly denied. The two had loved each other dearly, and to take her from an unworthy suitor, the Heir made war and eventually destroyed Clan Furan. In some versions, this daughter was the legendary Olwen of the Four Flowers. Of course, in surrounding areas they tell a less flattering tale, where a Moyra sworn to Clan Furan betrays his master to steal his daughter away.   Whatever their end, many have noted that the daughters of Clan Moyra have a reputation for great beauty, one presumably inherited through their ties to Clan Furan.
