Benneragh Beth
Benneragh Beth
First and only child of Danraigh Beth and Princess Sophina Ethel.
Benneragh would live his life as heir to his grandfather Fiion, who survived him.
Wed to Iva Graunt. Together they produced Barthos, who would be King Barthos the Beneficient, as well as Borhos, Balma, and Brianna.
After Iva's death, Benneragh would wed Solmei Dylaen. Together they produced Cielle, who became a wandering hostess, and Collars, who vanished not long after the ascension of King Barthos.
Benneragh was a strong and silent man, seemingly at odds with everyone. Both of his parents had been frail and died early in his life, and rumors abounded that he was actually the bastard son of his Uncle Lothar or even his grandfather Lord Fiion. Benneragh had few friends and fewer confidants, but he was a demon in battle. His ferocity earned him the respect of his lord grandfather and even his uncles, who had supposedly tried to disinherit his father for his weakness.
Benneragh lived most of his life under the peaceful reign of Gwydion the Great, and it was lamented by some that there was no grand war in which he might distinguish himself. He died at only six-and-twenty, in the training yards. Whilst sparring with his Uncle Lothar, he complained of a stitch in his side. By the day's end, he was dead of a burst stomach. His second wife, Solmei, would become a hostess at the Grand Hostel in Great Cross shortly after this. Benneragh's six children, including his firstborn Barthos, are thought to have been raised chiefly by Walter and his wife Cullana Barkside.
Benneragh was sometimes called the Planter, having sired so many children in so short a time. Rosheen Norfall calls it no less than a miracle that Clan Beth remained united and would in fact emerge as kings in a single generation.
