Personal history
- Asira was born to an elf mother, Elora, and a human father, Gabriel. Though her mother's clan of wood elf’s did not approve of the union of her parents, they settled on the outskirts of the clan’s land, and though initially we’re tolerated in community spaces, were eventually accepted by many clansman.
- She loved her life in the woods growing up, she learned so many useful skills, languages from traveling nomads that sometimes earned a place for a while among the clan, and she learned to navigate and survive in the wilderness. Her hunger was her curiosity and she got that from her father.
- When Asira was 15 her father had a vision that there would soon be a great threat to their (and their clan’s) way of life, and to life far beyond their corner of the forest. He knew instantly that Asira and her mom’s life would be directly in danger. He set off to intervene with this perceived fate with his best friend, Benjamin, a gilded blacksmith and cleric, and a local ranger “Quarter,” from the closest village who was looking for his next excuse to move on and find adventure.
- For the next 12 years he would be gone for months at a time, journeying to lands and seas near and far in seek of answers and direction. When she was 27 and tending to local clansman and animals with her knowledge of ailments, herbs, and other remedies, her father came home and stayed for 6 months. The longest he’d been home for one stretch since he began leaving. He had been cursed by a relic that he’d been told would give him the location of a talisman that he could use to protect 10,000 people. With the help of Asira herbs, Benjamin’s iron divider, Elora’s magic, and time, he was cured.
- He knew he had to go back out and keep trying to find answers, but he knew time was no longer on his side. Asira insisted on going with him to help, and so for several months, once a year, they set out, often with Benjamin or Asira’s best friend, an elf named Turaye, in company.
- 10 years passed this way, living life out in the greater world, yearning for the comfort of their corner of the forest back home and a wife and mother committed to staying and caring for her kinsman.
- Now Asira was 39 and her father had decided, after much debate and convincing, that he would retire his adventuring, advised that if the vision were to come to pass he would be of better use here with the clan and his wife than halfway across the land. The compromise was that Asira would head out once last time and return before a year was over.
- Asira is kind and helpful, honest and fair. She loves nature and animals and gets along better with them than most people. She is good at creating things from natural elements and surviving in the woods. She has built friendships and relationships with people wherever she spends time. She tries to avoid fighting if she can.
