Personal history
"I was born into a nomadic half-orc settlement in the
northern mountainous region of Skleara. Tragedy
befell my clan one particularly brutal winter, with
many starving to death. The few that remained
persisted to head deeper into the mountains, sure
that an old fortress of legend would offer us refuge.
One by one clan members fell, until only my sister
and myself remained. With our last efforts our
strength, we finally emerged into a man-made valley.
Appearing as though carved into the mountains
itself, a massive monestary now stood before us.
We were found and taken in by the monks of the monestary, The Order of the Rising Sun. There, we trained through our youth, but where my sister found discipline and purpose, I sought to see more of the world after hearing fantastic tales from monks returning home.
On one occasion, I secretly left the monestary with another monk to go fishing. After an hour of tedium, my line seemed to have snagged something. When I gave it a tug, an immense force pulled back, dragging me into the water. When I awoke, I was in a place unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The area surrounding me was vast and cavernous, with strange mushrooms and colorful mosses replacing the traditional mountain foliage. I saw that the other monk was also washed up ashore with me, albeit unconscious.
In front of me was a small pond with the most peculiar shadow lurking just beneath the water. It looked almost too big for a pond of only 80ft wide. As I cast my line, and my hook hit the water, I awoke back in my chambers at the Order. My clothes were soaked through, my hook had a large iridescent scale on it, and I never saw that other monk again.
I spent a few more years pursuing my monk studies, but eventually the allure of adventure, and the mystery of that fish, led me to leave the monastery. While I’m still a member of the Order, I’ve forgone my chance to develop into a master like my sister. I ended up setting from coastal town to coastal city, looking for work enough to keep hook on the bait."

We were taken into the Order of the Rising Sun and trained together, but while she excelled, I pursued my love of the ocean and fishing. As of recently she has become one of the seven pillars of the Order, taking others under her tutelage, like myself.
