The Dwarven Holds

Structure

The kingdom is lead by the King Under the Mountain, who rules from Forgehome. The other dwarven cities are ruled by lords, who meet in a council that directs much of the policy of the kingdom, with the King Under the Mountain offering final approval or veto- which can be overridden.

Public Agenda

The kingdom's goal is to ensure the continued prosperity of the dwarves, and to follow the tenants of Moradin in the world around it.

Assets

The Holds have some of the greatest mines and forges in Archaeon, and its smiths are proficient in the creation of mithral and airships.

Demography and Population

The majority of the residents of the Mountain Kingdom are dwarves, but a great deal of humans, tieflings, dragonborn, and warforged also live and work there.

Territories

The Mountain Kingdom, appropriately enough, controls much of the Spikes, including some territory in the Reaches.

Technological Level

The Mountain Kingdom has some of the most advanced materials technology outside of the Darkwood, but lack in the biological sciences.

Religion

The majority of dwarves follow Moradin, considering him to be their All-Father; however, many also follow other deities, especially those brought to the kingdom by other races. Erathis, Ioun, and Kord are some of the gods with the largest followings after Moradin.

Foreign Relations

The Mountain Kingdom has the closest diplomatic relations with the Free Cities, especially Farhold and Riverward.

Agriculture & Industry

The Mountain Kingdom is one of the greatest producers of metal goods in Archaeon, due to both the quality and quantity of its production. The dwarves are capable of producing enough food to feed their population, but not enough to export.

Trade & Transport

The Mountain Kingdom trades extensively with both the Free Cities and the Republic of Argive, but consistently gives the Free Cities better rates on the down low.

Education

Most residents of the Mountain Kingdom receive at least a rudimentary education in mining or some form of trade work as apprentices, but many also receive a more traditional book-based education.

Infrastructure

The Mountain Kingdom has a ridiculous number of forges and mines, and advanced utility systems to support the general population.
