Corpse-Walker's Inner Council - Stitcher

Shh, shh. Stop screaming. If this works, you will live forever. If it does not, you have helped countless others. That isn't so bad, is it?
— Stitcher
Stitcher is the latest member of the Corpse-Walkers inner council, a former Deva doctor turned to black magic and death. Even the other Exterreri fear him now; the Stitcher seeks answers to the riddle of death within flesh - both living and dead. With a slight stoop and receding hairline, it is only his cold eyes that warn people that he is something more than he appears. Under his gaze, people are measured as pounds of meat and organs, as bones and joints and faults to be rectified. In meetings with the other Exterreri, he wears the skull of a Suryō Spider.   Every night, Stitcher has his own brush with death. His flesh is failing, ravaged by mutating tumors. Every night, he carves them out of his body with Thaumaturgy and invites more corruption into his body. Stitcher intends to defeat death and some among the Inner Council fear that he may succeed.

Means Justified

Next to Three-Skulls, Stitcher has the smallest territory among the Corpse-Walkers. Still more doctor than criminal, Stitcher relies a great deal on his Reapers and the dreadful reputation of the Corpse-Walkers to run his business. Much of his attention is still focused on his research, but Stitcher knows to prioritize the enterprise when required - after all, it is what funds and supplies his experiments.

More than any of the Exterreri, Stitcher has focused on the wretched and poor of Mharaji. Many of his Bones come from families wretchedly poor and require little more than a handful of coin to buy their loyalty.   It is from the same families and communities that people disappear into his gore-soaked abattoirs and laboratories. To cure death, Stitcher knows he must first understand it and to that end, people die.
Stitcher still serves as a doctor from time to time, even providing care for those too poor to afford it. Few know who is healing them or the dark fascination with which he views them as little more than complicated machines.

Among the Dead

As the latest Exterreri, Stitcher is still under the watchful gaze of the others. Though they would never admit it, they fear the doctor and the clarity with which he pursues his research. Out of all of them, only Marrow supports the doctor's studies and has placed great hope in his protégé. Stitcher makes an effort to get along with all of them and does his best to prove his worth. So far, offers to see to their health have been rebuffed.

Out of all the other Exterreri, Stitcher has found allies with Marrow and the mad Three-Skull, but an enemy with Grandmother Death. The source of their dispute lies at a comment made about her age and possibly imminent demise.   The Grandmother has nursed a festering feud since and should the Corpse-Walkers ever fight among themselves, she has marked him for a slow, painful death.
The Doctor has found a niche among the Exterreri in his flesh-sculpting thaumaturgy. He is the only one among them who can alter a living body and he can work even dead flesh to great effect. This niche has given him power and influence, collecting favors with every reshaped corpse or minion.
Only Marrow knows what life Stitcher lead before he was brought into the Corpse-Walkers Inner Council. They only know that Marrow sought him out and bargained on his behalf to bring him into the fold.   Some wonder if Stitcher has some hold over the ancient Exterreri - or what plans Marrow has for the doctor.
