Battle of Makassar Reef

This battle was fought between the Confederacy of Freebooters, the Badgen, and the Lutra on Hyna Yilane. When the dragon turtle neared the Makassar Reef, the pirates, came around a ocean mount at the head of the reef to begin the attack.

Lord Stonefist the war chief, organized all adults of age to repel the invaders. He always leads from the front and was the strongest warrior of his generation. He can inspire his warriors to do their best whenever required, some of them became berserkers, while others just fought to the best of their abilities.

Stonefist was always in the thick of battle, he could take on any opponent they could throw at him. No one could stand in his way, he stood head and shoulders over everyone present. This helped keep his peoples morale up and demoralized the enemy. 

He was born and bred for battle, its in his blood. Stonefist is an excellent leader, training by example, never asking others what he wouldn't do himself. Other Badgen, and Tribal Badgen are his shock troops, while the Lutra are scouts, aquatic and ranged warriors.

These pirates are constantly roving the seas but rarely attack such a protected settlement.

Deployment

The defenders deployed both under and above the water. They met the pirates before they could land with canoes and swimmers.

They drove the pirates off after a long and drug out battle.

Aftermath

Almost 1/3 of Stonefists forces died and many were wounded before they drove the pirates off.

Legacy

The Freebooters were so demoralized by the battle that they never returned.

Technological Advancement

Hyna Beatha's society is a pre-industrial one by choice. There are a few chosen technological items that have been included but they are rare to uncommon. The battle was the same, there were some guns and canons, some rare magical items, common melee, and ranged weapons.
