The Seelie Court
The Seelie Court are the good aligned Archfey court of the The Feywild. Its leadership varies depending on the season; in Spring, the court is owned by Neeth Lekki, in Summer, Haught Lekki, in Autumn, Mals Lekki and in Winter, Leish Lekki. However, since the arrest of Haught Lekki and the absence of Leish Lekky, is it most run by Neeth and Mals.
Culture
One of the most important functions of the Court is to contain the malicious Haught Lekki, after his tryannical rule of the Feywild. Haught Lekki once ruled the entire Feywild as the Summer King, a fiery tyrant whose reign was marked by oppression and war. His unquenchable desire for dominance brought chaos, pushing the realm into a violent imbalance. After his defeat, he was imprisoned in a slumber beneath the Burning Vale, a desolate region where eternal summer reigns. Despite his imprisonment, Haught’s power still seeps into the Feywild, threatening to disrupt its balance.
Neeth uses trickery and elaborate Illusion Magic to ensure Haught remains isolated. She spreads false rumors about Haught’s location to mislead those who might seek to free him. Knowing Haught often exploited mortals, Neeth works to establish positive ties with mortal realms, ensuring they don’t fall prey to Haught’s manipulations.
Mals devotes significant energy to reinforcing the magical seals on Haught’s prison, enlisting druids and other natural allies to weave layers of protective magic. He hunts down lingering agents of Haught who plot his return, uprooting his influence wherever it festers.
The siblings have created a network of seasonal guardians, powerful fey beings aligned with their respective domains, to monitor Haught’s prison and report any activity. In the event Haught escapes, they have devised a ritual to temporarily suppress his power by uniting their domains (spring and autumn) to counteract his summer dominance. This ritual requires both siblings to act in unison, a symbolic reminder that only together can they stand against their older brother.
Though Leish Lekki abandoned the court, they have not hesitated to reach out to her for assistance. They are currently negotiating for her to create a winter-based artifact or spell that could weaken Haught permanently.
Public Agenda
The differences between Neeth and Mals often create tension, but they have learned to work through their disagreements for the greater good of the Feywild. Neeth believes the Feywild thrives on unpredictability and growth. She is quick to implement bold reforms, often without thinking them through fully. She prioritizes creativity and the autonomy of individuals over collective stability and takes risks in diplomacy, reaching out to unexpected allies, including mortals, and even making deals with less conventional factions.
Conversely, Mals sees change as necessary but believes it must happen gradually to avoid destabilizing the Feywild. She places the welfare of the Feywild as a whole above individual desires and focuses on building strong, traditional alliances with other courts and consolidating defenses against external threats.
Despite their differences, Neeth and Mals understand that their duality mirrors the Feywild’s essence, which thrives on both change and stability. Over the centuries, they have forged a system of balance through a range of compromises. To prevent rash decisions, they formed a council of advisors representing various Feywild factions. Neeth uses the council to test ideas, while Mals ensures consensus before implementation. In addition, they alternate periods of direct leadership, with Neeth taking charge during spring and summer while Mals leads during autumn and winter. During transitions, they collaborate to set overarching goals. Neeth’s artistic programs are coupled with Mals’s conservation efforts, such as rewilding damaged areas through creative initiatives like planting festivals or reintroducing displaced creatures.
