Erinsport

Erinsport is the capital of Amank. Situated on the Isle of Erin, the navy docked there controls most of the trade headed to and from Kernia and the southern potion of The Great Towers, thanks to the Reef of Aman. The city is constructed on the side of a hill leading up to a great plateau, upon which sits the palace; from the docks it appears a beacon shining down from on high. The city is separated into 5 tiers. Street preachers from the Cult of Fuerren can be heard throughout the Outer Town and the Second Tier, though they usually quickly move on before any city guard get too close. While largely human, members of every race in Animia occupy or frequent the city.

Districts

Erinsport is divided into 5 tiers.

The Outer Town

The outer town is home to the peasants who work the surrounding land, the dock workers, tanners, dyers, and other foul-smelling or low status workers. The outer town is clustered primarily on the southern side of the city near the docks, with easy access to the sea. Guards heavily patrol the area around the docks and the road into the next tier, as everyone traveling to and from the capital must pass through the outer town. Inns in the Outer town do not offer individual rooms, but rather individual beds crammed into a large sleeping area.

The Second Tier

The second tier, separated from the outer town by rocky cliffs 10 feet high, is home to slightly more prestigious citizens. Five 10-foot paths are carved into the cliff-face, allowing foot and cart traffic easy passage between the levels. While they are guarded, The second tier is home to overseers, journeymen, blacksmiths, alchemists, butchers, and brewers. Inns and taverns in the second tier do offer individual rooms, though they are small and still on the seedier side. Walking through this part of the city, one will likely come across simple agricultural vendors, charlatans posing as doctors, alchemists offering love potions, and stores offering basic supplies. A job board can be found on this tier.

The Artisan Tier

The third tier of the city is protected by an outer wall, and guards are stationed at the gates to control who is able to enter the city. This district is home to jewlers, craftspeople, sellers of fine cloth, tailors, spice shops, licensed purveyors of magical goods and services, and even some of the lesser nobility. Moneylenders and merchants who oversee large trade empires can also be found here. Inns and taverns in this district are luxurious. A job board, the city guard's headquarters, and many government offices can also be found on this tier. The western end of the tier is gated off, home to private residences belonging to the some of the cities wealthier middle/upper-class elites; those with money and power, but no noble lineage.

The Temple District

The temple district is home to the most elaborate temple complex in southern Pelagria. The gargantuan building is constructed of white marble. Much of the architecture is highlighted with gold. Four large outer buildings are joined to one central, domed temple, Representing the oneness of Ylem.

The Palace District

Sitting atop a plateau that overlooks the rest of the city is the palace district. All major and minor houses in Amank have a residential estate here reserved for their visits to the capital. Most of the plateau is made up of training grounds, guard barracks, and the castle itself. A fortress overlooking the Sea of Erin to the east, the keep clearly began as a significant military location, but has since become a more luxurious, sprawling compound.
