'Elder Forest'
The 'Elder Forest' is the homeland of the Wood Elves.
Fauna & Flora
This region is dominated by several species of massive, ancient trees. Their branches and roots extend far beyond the trunk and become entangled with those of other trees, creating a challenging terrain of interwoven roots down below and a interconnected world of branches high above. Due to the sheer size of the trees there are several ecological layers. The forest floor is home to large dangerous creatures, and as a result the Wood Elves live almost exclusively up in the trees themselves. The movement of these animals keep the forest floor relatively clear of vegetation.
Natural Resources
The massive trees are highly desirable, for even one full grown tree can provide enough lumber to build a small village. However these trees can take centuries to reach full size, so taking down even a handful of these trees can lead to long lasting changes in the area. This has lead to conflicts between the Elves who rely on these trees for survival, and the Humans who are expanding their territory.
