Personal history

A New Kingdom

During the Three Kings Crisis, Waroch was an ambitious warlord in the fracturing Kingdom of Great Kernev. Seeing an opportunity during the civil war, Waroch gathered a host and sailed on what would become Gwened, seizing the Mor Bihan and declaring independence from the Kingdom. With the High Kings unable to respond to this upstart, Waroch marched on Roazhon.   This attracted the attention of King Gontran of Gallia, who dispatched aristocrat Franc Beppolène. Marquise of Neustria and compte of Angers, Naoned and Roazhon to counter Waroch's invasion. When Beppolène was killed on the Oud River, Waroch added Naoned to his domain.   The campaign continued under the Leadership of Compte Ebrachaire of Threetower, marched his forces across the Gwilen to attack Gwened directly. Waroch was betrayed by Arch-Perfect Regalis, who opened the doors to Ebrachaire's forces. Waroch fled by sea, but lost most of his fleet in a freak Wyldstorm. Waroch surrendered, and pledged fealty to the Gallian King, offering his nephew as a royal hostage.   Before the delegation could reach its destination, Waroch's son, Chanao I ambushed them, killing Ebrachaire. Waroch, seeing the opportunity, continued to rule over Naoned, Roazhon and Gwened, the treaty murky enough that Gontran's successor. Childebert II, failed to act in time, allowing Waroch to keep his throne.

The Black Dog War

  Macliau

Reign

Waroch rose to power in the petty Kingdom of Gwened, an upstart vassal of High King Budig II with great ambition and power. Unsatisfied with his holdings, he conquered the marshy regions around Naoned, cementing his status as the most powerful force in Upper Letha.   Waroch became embroiled in the bloody campaign of Conomor the Cursed. Despite his initial victories, Waroch was betrayed when his sons, led by Chanao I, who poisoned his brothers save for Bishop Macliau, who fled to Conomor's protection, plotting to take the throne from Chanao.   In the meantime, Waroch, aided by the Alliance of the Brekilien, ousted Chanao and began to prepare against Conomor and Macliau, erecting palisades and earthworks to protect his Northwestern border from the Black Dog's host. A surprise attack by Conomor's Garwaf Sea Dogs during the Bloodmoon put an end to Waroch's reign as the kingdom fell after a unnaturally long night of brutality and mayhem.   Waroch took a knee before his conqueror, adding his forces to Conomor's and turning on Muldumarec Artegall's shattered alliance. Conomor took his daughter, Tryphine as a hostage, ultimately killing her after Budig's defeat. Waroch never recovered and his son Judicael I, a puppet of the Kingdom of Neustria took the throne.
