Structure

The Lordship of Breze is a small sovereignty under the Konts of Angers/Dugs of Anjev, one of several small regions on the Lethan Border. The region is overseen by the Lords of Breze.

Public Agenda

The Lordship is small and largely concerned with local agrarian issues, maintain vineyards and a small silk industry in the limestone caves in the area. Lacking international clout on a martial level, the Lords of Breze show off their largesse by supporting academic institutions and among Anjevin society.

History

The Lordship came about as part of the Marches of Neustria, under a larger territory of the Lordship of Pouancé, splitting off as an appanage at some point of its history.

Demography and Population

The population is mixed, with a majority of Bediz, while Teuz, Kriores and Poulpiquet make up large segments of the Korrigan populations.

Geopolitical Borders

  The Lordship of Breze is a small sovereignty in the West of the County of Angers. Its northern neighbors are the similarly sized Lordship of Pouancé and Lordship of Segré , with the Eastern taken up by the County seat of Angers.   On its Western frontier, Breze is wedged between two Lethan sovereignties, the Marches of La Mee and Ancenis.  

Physical Geography

  Breze is located along the Erdre River, in the Eastern foothills of the Naoned Plateau.

Military

A small four towered castle defends the Lordship as serves as the home of the Lords of Breze. The castle is notable for its complex of troglodyte caves beneath it, serving the castle as kitchens, stables and a silk farm located in its depths. These tunnels are well stocked and warded, allowing the border territory to withstand long sieges.

Agriculture & Industry

Breze has a small silk industry, located in the troglodyte caves spread along the river valley. A small colony of Crystalsilk Spiders was brought by a Paolig adventurer to the region, stabilizing in the caves beneath the castle to allow for a lucrative market.

Education

The Lords of Breze are notable patrons for the nearby Abbey of Fontevraud, making regular donations to the institution.
