Nadvë

Introduction to Nadwë

An extremely intelligent creature, that humans would see as all-knowing and godly. They have developed the rare ability to see the fabric of the universe itself. Unlike humans, Nadwë not only sees the same dimensions as humans, they see even more than that. This means time and space are visible before their eyes. This skill has always been in their genes, but over the years they've been able to train it to become more than just a spectacle. Most are born with the ability to see all the dimensions mentioned above, but some individuals have the potential to become a weaver; someone who can interact with the strings of time and space.
The weavers are able to manipulate atoms around them from a young age, but when trained, can accomplish unimaginable things later in life. No Nadwë has ever used their abilities to do harm, on the contrary, they've used it to improve small things around them. They are wise beings that know the consequences of "playing" too much with the fabric of the universe; horrible things could happen.
A long time ago, when the universe we live in was still young and small, the Nadwë formed on a distant planet; one of the first sentient life in our galaxy. The planet they called their home, Domus, were hostile and didn't let the Nadwë grow that much. Only a fraction of the surface was calm enough for them to tread on.   When they first evolved it happened in the elaborate cave systems under Domus surface. This is where life started on Domus; plants as well as sentient life formed in the warm and pleasant caves. When the surface above them became inhabitable, Nadwë and other species of life ventured up there and started life anew.

Nadwë culture and traditions

Though they've come a long way as a species, they would never see themselves as superior or godly. It is in their nature to help where they are needed, and to improve the lives of others. This is also how they started to expand their knowledge of magic and the like; though it isn't the magic we humans have created in our fairytales.   A young Nadwë saw the devastation a threatening species made to other harmful species of plants; he wanted to make sure that none of them ended up killing the other. This is how weaving started. He was capable of changing their genes and made them live in harmony. He was the first and is a big rock in the Nadwë culture.   Nadwë civilisation is extremely old and has been through a lot. Sometime in the early days after weaving began to be practised, a group of extremist Nadwë wanted to use weaving for something else than helping; they wanted to make the world around them like a paradise that they could enjoy.   "Who cares about plants and other life? We are practically gods! The universe can be what we make it!"   Younger generations of Nadwë followed the trend and felt it was time to use weaving for their own good. A big debate began, and the waters were parted. But the majority of Nadwë didn't like this new selfish way of living.

Characteristics

Cities

The largest city found on Domus to this date (madde by Nadwë) is the City of Elm in the far north of the continent of Feimir.

Humans impression of Nadwë

After everything we have discovered and been through the last 100 years, a new human-like species shouldn't surprise us... But it does. !

The Nadvë is an ancient civilization that lived on Domus long before humans arrived. Now, all that's left from them is ruins, beliefs, ideas, and their knowledge and discoveries about Domus and Alpha Centauri A. Though the ruins don't seem old, more like.. They've only been abandoned for a few years. It's still very unclear why they aren't on Domus anymore, and nothing has been found as of yet that could indicate what happened to them.
After everything humans went through with the near-miss of Asteroid Mors, they certainly didn't expect that Path-001 would lead to a formally habituated planet - and it's so close to our solar system!
Researchers have tried to connect all the scattered dots, but some are missing still. We still don't know precisely what made Asteroid Mors chance course, but scientists are 100% that an outside force had a play in it.

Maybe it was the Nadvë? Maybe they were trying to get the attention of the humans? That's definitely a way of doing it.   The buildings that have been located have been drawn on a map to get a sense of how many there is, and if the buildings are in small clusters of cities. On the ruins, a written language has been found. Translators have been able to translate a lot of it, and that's also how we are guessing that they called themselves Nadvë.   Paintings and depictions of Nadwës are found all around Domus, like ghosts from a close past. Overall many of their characteristics look a lot like humans, so much that it really is a mystery how we can be so alike when we are galaxies apart. If you could imagine elves and druids from old folk tales, it would give you a good picture of how the Nadwë looked like. They were very much one with the nature around them, and dedicated their lives to protect it. Plants, flowers and twigs were very normal to see grow from their skin and hair.

I wonder if they're really just humans that advanced so far that they traveled back in time...

That's exactly what I was going for! (sorry for the late answer) I'm thinking that they somehow created a loop in time and space, and that's why they are so much like humans. Well yeah, I'm still figuring out how to write it best, but thank you for your comment :D
