Eagle's Perch

Eagle's Perch is small village, about five miles east of Kendra's Fork and ten miles west of Troutville, on the edge of The Enchanted Woods in Jegoria.

Assets

The Bloody Lord - A tavern built on the site of the negotiations between Lady Saclor and Lord Silversmith, it features Lord Silversmith himself, his corpse perfectly preserved via magical enchantment.  It's custom for adventurers coming back from a big haul to "Give the Lord his due" by driving a dagger into the lord, and then buying a round for the house.  Bad luck is said to follow those who fail to heed to this custom.  This custom falls back to Lord Silversmith's lack of popularity amongst adventuer's and treasure seekers due to his high taxes he attempted to levy on them.

History

In 1277 Santolia Saclor departs Eagle's Landing with around one hundred refugees, mostly loggers and their families displaced from the treaty with Altaiesha in 1260 AYD, with the intent of starting a new village on the edge of The Enchanted Woods and beginning a new lumber operation.  Traveling down the Noble's Road, she picks about a dozen more families as she travels through the villages, finally turning east at Kendra's Fork.  She meets resistance from an already existing logging operation run by a minor lord, Lord Julian Silversmith.  Lord Silversmith was unpopular with the people of Kendra's Fork, as he had been attempting to petition the King that he should be lord of the village.     Negotiations were held between Lady Saclor and Lord Silversmith, with the Lords of Moorsworth and Thistlefort in attendance as well.  These were held in the disputed territory under a large tent, with only the four nobles in attendance.  No one knows quite what happened next, but witnesses report after a few hours of bickering, Lady Saclor left the tent, her dress covered in blood, and Lord Silversmith was dead, the other two lords, supporting her claim.  The village was founded the next day, Lady Saclor naming it Eagle's Perch, and insisted the workers build all the homes and other buildings they would require first, at her personal expense, before logging operations could begin.  This won her the loyalty and favor of her subjects.
