The Senate

The Senate is the primary governing body of Aldyn. Existing for several thousand years in some capacity or another, the Senate is a large, almost 40 person group of officials representing the views and ideologies of the many people of Aldyn. It features members from all of the Common races as well as most of the other races with large communities somewhere in the system (notably, the Frostkin, Dragonborn, Tieflings, and Paradimensionals are not represented and The Hunter Races are given only one representative).
The Senate was founded by the Gnomes long ago as Aldyn was taken as part of their empire but quickly it became a much broader organization, leading IFAIR and having large diplomatic missions to wartorn regions of Nu and outside of the system. The Senate still has a larger number of gnome members than any other race, but in the modern day these Gnomes are representative of different populations and do not vote entirely for their own race, with positions like the Upper and Middle class representatives, the satellite representative, and the unusual persons representative.
