Paradimensionals
Paradimensionals are strange, humanoid creatures from another dimension that enter the universe through Tears, rifts in space that bring in the things of outside Dimensions. They come from a strange, unknown plane of the Second Dimension, bearing magic-bending powers that warp reality around them. They often have forms made of geometric shapes, constantly moving and maddening to watch.
Life Before The Third
Paradimensionals are well known for being incredibly annoying to get any straight answers from: every response always has two sides. Their heritage in the second dimension gives them an unusual world view and a strange combination of strong understanding of minute details and poor knowledge of large, seemingly obvious universal constants and events. Being binded to the third dimension from rift travel means Paradimensionals cannot stay two-dimensional for any extended period. Some can shift to seemingly invisible two-sidedness for short periods, but many cannot and the action takes much out of them.DND Mechanics
- Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Charisma increases by 1.
- Age. Paradimensionals chaotic nature can make their aging process extremely variable. They usually mature around the same age as Humans; though usually they live shorter lives, they have been seen at ages in the hundreds, even thousands, from their rift heritage.
- Alignment. Created out of a chaotic world of geometric shape, they often stray between chaotic and lawful alignments, taking on the chaotic traits of their world or the lawful logic to the geometric plane.
- Size. Paradimensionals are humanoid but very variable in size and shape, mostly resembling taller Elves or shorter Verdans, though they have far more angular, almost geometric features. Your size is Medium.
- Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
- Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. Your ties to the second dimension makes your darkvision unusual: everything you see in darkness is seen as a combination of geometric shapes.
- Dimensional Power. You know the Encode Thoughts cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Detect Magic spell once. Once you reach 5th level, you can also cast the Arcanist's Magic Aura spell once. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells again with this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
- Simple Geometry. You can transform yourself into your two-dimensional form for a quick escape. When you take the disengage action, you are counted as invisible until the start of your next turn.
- Abstract Mind. Your mind cannot be read by outside individuals. Additionally, telepathy does not work with you.
- Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial.
