Frostkin

Frostkin are one of the primary sentient races of Borea. Frostkin are large brutish people with blue-white, camouflaged skin that can survive in the freezing colds of Borea. They often serve as hunters, trapping small game and looting ancient ruins for materials. They're a rare sight in the rest of the galaxy, very much hating warmer temperatures and often needing special suits for hot environments.

Survival of the Fittest

Frostkin live on Borea, a planet known for its inhospitable conditions and extreme cold and storms. Frostkin can live a long time but rarely do. They generally prefer small village or tribe structure and live among the surface or among the surface caves of Borea, where water is plentiful (if frozen) and wild game is easier to find.   Their culture places little importance on beauty but much on physical appearance and stature. Stronger, more hardy individuals who can survive the snowy wasteland are viewed in high regard in my of the tribes.

Far Past History

The Frostkin have been in Aldyn for a very very long time, before even the Elves made it to the system, but have largely stayed entirely on Borea. In more recent times, through trade routes they have become close with the Dwarves, and made connections with Aldyn's dwarf communities on Borea's moons.

War Culture

Since they made it to Borea, they have had a few minor wars that have shaped their culture. Religious conflicts led to generations of atheistic hedonists that deny the power of real dieties in the system and even the power of beings like the World Eaters and The Black Heart. Tribal wars have resulted in a deep distrust of the other and a general disliking of those outside of their village. Scuffles for land with mining companies have led to a reverence for the land, making Frostkin strong defenders of their territory and easily angered by anything approaching the natural land around them.

DND Mechanics

Like the Merdhrai, the original idea for the race and many of the abilites come from the homebrew Natives of the North.
