In the blood of Dwarves is iron and grit. Fueled by generations of anguish, Dwarves are almost as technological as the things they make.
Dwarves are one of the most common races on Aldyn with a very complex history and culture that has grown and flourished in their long period in Aldyn.
An Unusual Race
Dwarves appear to be bipedal, with six fingers and six toes but otherwise similar to shorter, stouter
Humans. Their skin tone is usually vaguely human but with a tendency towards more gray-tinted shades. Dwarves don't have the concept of gender like other races do, mostly because of their unusual reproductive characteristics (which I am not going to explain here).
The dwarves have a deep culture that goes back many generations and has so many layers most sentients don't fully understand it. They often have longer hair and almost always have some form of beard, the length of which says much about their status in society. The primary common thread in hair culture has to do with hair length, with hair's decoration showing your relationships and facial hair showing your age and struggles.
Dwarves come from the distant planet of Alefor Prime, which was destroyed in the distant past by the
World Eaters. The dwarves have a huge cultural focus on tinkering and advancement and their rampant technological production led to the destruction of a second world as well, Titus, before they joined with Aldyn in the early days of the Aldyn "empire." They spent a lot of time in trade routes across
Borea and
Juno where their language is incredibly common,
Dwarvish.
The dwarves have become an integral population in Aldyn. They're natural tinkerers and inventors, capable miners, often heavy enough to be great asteroid miners due to their thick bones, and seemingly fearless of the chance of another World Eater's arrival. Many in the system take jobs as inventors, pilots, fixers, and technological workers of most any kind or serve as miners on the many
Mining Satellites in Aldyn.
