Tieflings
The Tieflings are a race from a dark, distant planet from Aldyn. They have a lot in Common with the Demons and Devils of The Instability visually, with horns and various colored skin which usually takes a shade of red, but they lack any of the connection to the dimension and seem to have no shared ancestors, unless there's thousands of years seperating them.
Secret Homeworld, Secret Motivations
The Tieflings are very secretive and insular as a race, generally keeping information about their abilites and position in space very tightlipped. Long ago, their homeworld was attacked by a World Eater and some sort of deal was made with the World Eaters that created the Tiefling Heralds and led to the creation of the distant organization-conglomerate FEED. However little else is known about what the deal was or what was involved. Some say that the Tieflings worship the World Eater dragons and get power from destruction. Others claim that the World Eaters follow the bidding of the Tiefling Heralds. No matter the truth, the system has never been kind to these outsiders.DND Mechanics
- Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma, Wisdom, or Intelligence score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
- Age. Tieflings mature around half as quickly as Humans and can often live to around 200 years old. Tieflings who become Heralds live much longer.
- Alignment. Tieflings might not have an innate tendency toward evil, but many of them end up there. Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many tieflings toward a chaotic alignment.
- Size. Tieflings tend to have builds similar to that of Elves. Your size is Medium.
- Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
- Darkvision. Thanks to your abyssal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
- Natural Resilience. You have resistance to lightning damage.
- Abyssal Fortitude. Your hit point maximum increases by half your level (minimum 1).
- Natural Energy Control. You know the Shocking Grasp cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Chaos Bolt spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Darkness spell once and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
- Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Abyssal.
